A 39-year-old man got into a fight with his girlfriend over his drunkenness. The man slapped his girlfriend twice in the fight and tore out a phone when she tried to call 911. The woman later called police from a friend’s phone. The man was arrested and taken to jail.

A 40-year-old Half Moon Bay man allegedly punched his wife multiple times, giving her visible injuries to her upper chest. The alleged attacker, Cristino Sanchez, was arrested and taken to jail.

A power saw, camera and a battery charger were stolen from a vehicle.

A high school student refused to go to class or listen to her parents. The teenager was counseled by police officers and released to school staff.

A dispute between neighbors over building a fence required police intervention.

A woman went to a gas station and tried to buy gas and other items with a bad debit card. The customer got furious when the card was declined and demanded that the store fix her card. Officers arrived and determined that the woman was on prescription medication. She was issued a citation for a DMV re-evaluation of her driver’s license.

A 29-year-old driver was observed in a parking lot, falling out of his vehicle. The man failed sobriety tests and was arrested for drunken driving and having a suspended license.
April 4, Laurel Avenue
A 17-year-old Half Moon Bay resident was arrested for drunken driving. The teenager was spotted weaving along the city streets.
2:01 a.m., April 5, Main Street
A 33-year-old driver was spotted swerving in downtown Half Moon Bay and running through a stop sign. When police stopped the driver, he ran from his vehicle and was pursued on foot. The man escaped the officers, but was later located at his residence and arrested for drunken driving and having a suspended license. The arrested man also was charged with violating his parole guidelines.

8:26 p.m., April 2, Burning Tree Court
A woman was startled when a man in a ski mask came up to her front door with an envelope. The woman said she said she was relieved when she recognized the man as an old friend. However, the man did not stay to chat; instead he dropped off the envelope on her front porch and left. Inside the envelope was a court summons from the woman’s ex-husband.

An Oregon man reported that his guitar and some accessories were stolen from his unlocked car while it was parked in front of his friend’s house overnight. The stolen gear was valued at $475.
2 a.m., April 5, Willow Avenue
A resident reported his 1999 Chevy S-10 pickup had been stolen overnight.

A woman reported receiving vague threats from a man she had been dating.

A drunken man was wandering onto private property after being warned numerous times to stay away. The landowner said he wanted to press charges this time. When police encountered the trespasser, he tried to resist being arrested. The man was found to be extremely drunk, and had to be taken to the hospital.

Somebody used a power drill to remove a lock on a gate at Smith Field.

A $600 GPS device was stolen from an unlocked car parked in a home driveway.

1:20 p.m., March 28, 5th Street
An unknown person was caught trying to steal a truck by the owner. The thief reportedly fled on foot after being interrupted in front of the owner’s home. Deputies later could not find the suspected thief.
10 a.m., April 4, Kelly Avenue
A woman reported her purse was stolen at the Ted Adcock Community Senior / Center after she accidentally left it behind at a breakfast event. When she came back to recover her purse, it was missing. The purse contained about $200 along with a cell phone and garage door opener.

March 29, 11th Street
A car parked in a driveway was damaged by an unknown person. The vehicle had a few large scratches on its doors and other parts of the car body, along with a big dent in a taillight. The total damage was estimated at $1,000.

A 61-year-old transient was found sleeping on the ground. Police arrested the man after finding he had a $5,000 warrant.

12:15 p.m., March 25, California Avenue
A UPS package delivery raised alarms for a Moss Beach resident, who called Sheriff’s deputies to make sure it wasn’t a bomb. Sheriff’s deputies took control of the package after examining the package and its origin. A bomb squad later determined that the package was safe.

9:30 p.m., March 28, Culebra Lane
Deputies were twice called out to control a drunken man disturbing his neighbors at a mobile home park. The man reportedly had slurred speech, red eyes, and was unsteadily walking around when deputies first responded. The drunken man said he was depressed about his lifestyle, and he agreed to go to bed for the night. But that didn’t happen; instead, the man started making more noise and prompting a second call to the Sheriff’s Office from irate neighbors. On the second call, officers arrested the man, taking him to jail.
March 31, Capistrano Road
A drunken woman was reportedly sleeping inside the Harbor Village shopping mall. Deputies reported the 51-year-old woman had bloodshot eyes and couldn’t keep her balance. The woman had a scratch on her nose from falling down. Deputies arrested the woman, taking her to county jail.
