Police find teens drinking at house party

Fifteen underage teenagers were allegedly caught drinking beer out in front of a Willow Avenue home on Friday evening. Responding to a noise complaint, police officers arrived at a house party and reportedly saw the teenagers quickly scrambling to hide their alcohol. About seven adults were barbecuing at the house while the teenagers were drinking, including the homeowner, who was reprimanded by police. The party was dispersed, and two of the teenagers with prior convictions were charged with violating their parole guidelines.

A 43-year-old transient was seen jaywalking across the highway while drunk.

4:51 p.m., March 17, Highway 1

A 51-year-old Half Moon Bay resident allegedly followed another man, repeatedly challenging him to a fight. The belligerent man reportedly attacked the victim, but was stopped by police. The victim signed a citizen’s arrest complaint, and the suspected assaulter was taken to jail.

A drunken man was reportedly harassing people on the Coastal Trail near Pillar Point Harbor. The man reportedly grabbed another person on the trail by the arm.

A 15-year-old girl was reportedly out of control, slapping her father and trying to knock the phone away as he called for police. The girl was taken to a safe house for temporary housing.

8:05 a.m., March 19, Highway 1

About $1,400 was stolen from a locked file cabinet at an unidentified business. Police found no sign of forced entry to the building.

A 14-year-old reportedly shoplifted an alcoholic beverage, a disposable camera and some pens from Longs Drugs. The 14-year-old was detained and released to his parents.

A teenage girl refused to live with her family as mandated by courts. The girl was counseled and agreed to behave better.

A woman reported being followed by a man who would not leave her alone. The man apologized and promised never to contact her again.

12:51 a.m., March 20, Kelly Avenue

A 22-year-old driver was traveling over the speed limit. Officers stopped the driver and saw he was drunk. The man failed sobriety test and was arrested.

False ID

12:52 a.m., March 21, Johnston Street

Police found a 27-year-old who reportedly had been doing “donuts” on local city streets. The man was asleep in his car with an open can of beer when police caught up to him. When he was awake, the man gave police a fake name. Police cited the man and released him.

A resident reported an e-mail lottery scam that was trying to get personal information.

A $200 cell phone was stolen during soccer practice at Cunha Intermediate School.

A man working in his garage noticed a young teenager writing on a nearby fence. The man scolded the juvenile, who ran away.
