Aldo Andreotti died at his home at peace on March 11, 2009. He was 88 years old. He was born October 28, 1920, near Lucca, Italy. In 1937, he emigrated from Italy to the United Sates at the age of 16. He served in the United States Army during World War II. In 1944, he married Ida Garbini. They were married for 53 years until her death in 1996. He continued to farm, but in 1955, he went to work for Pacific Ready-Mix in San Mateo. He worked there for 27 years (as a truck driver) until 1982 when he retired. He was a volunteer Fireman for 9 years with the Half Moon Bay Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of Our Lady of The Pillar Church. His peers knew him as "The Heart of the Bell Building". He is survived by his daughter Julie McGowan and husband Pat, his grand children Erin Brazil and husband David, Patrick (P.J.) McGowan and wife Noelle, two great-granddaughters Cassidy and Danielle Brazil. Also, his loving companion of 9 years Susan Lara. A mass was celebrated on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Our Lady of the Pillar Church.
