Three arrested for gang activity at

local restaurant


Several Sureño gang members at a Highway 1 McDonalds reportedly threatened construction workers at about 3 p.m. on Saturday, accusing them of being in a rival gang because the workers were wearing red. Restaurant employees called the police, who chased after the fleeing gang members. The officers arrested 20-year-old Cesar Raya of Pacifica, 18-year-old Jesus Delgado of Half Moon Bay, and a 17-year-old Half Moon Bay juvenile. All the men were charged with participation in a gang activity along with other charges.

Alcohol

9:39 a.m., Dec. 16, Chesterfield Avenue

An “incorrigible” 17-year-old refused to go to school after skipping class for two days. His parents called police and searched his room, finding an almost-empty vodka bottle under his bed. The case will be forwarded to a probation officer.

11:57 p.m., Dec. 21, Kelly Avenue

Two juveniles were walking around town with alcoholic beverages.

Burglary

6:45 a.m., Dec. 16, Terrace Avenue

Somebody shattered a car window and stole a CD player from inside.

3:55 p.m., Dec. 17, Highway 1

A burglar broke into a home and stole a laptop, pieces of crystal, a phone charger and various paperwork.

Custody dispute

3:48 p.m., Dec. 20, Brig Court

Two parents were arguing over the custody of their child, but neither had a copy of the court-ordered agreement. The father agreed to return later with a copy of the court order.

Disturbance

1:41 p.m., Dec. 16, Kelly Avenue

A resident received a threatening letter from a family member over a dispute over a relative’s property.

4:45 p.m., Dec. 16, Arnold Way

A neighborhood resident started making threats against construction employees working in the area. The suspect was told that if he continued he could face criminal charges.

12:30 p.m., Dec. 17, Winged Foot Road

A resident was complaining about his neighbor’s loose dogs, saying they were ferocious and unsupervised. The report was forwarded to the Humane Society.

5:44 p.m., Dec. 17, Third Avenue

A person reported received a suspicious letter from an unknown person with vague threats.

Drugs

12:52 p.m., Dec. 17, Highway 1

A 19-year-old driver was cited for driving with a suspended license, having marijuana, not having a license plate, and having a broken brake light.

11:23 p.m., Dec. 20, Kelly Avenue

A driver was pulled over for not having headlamps or tail lamps on, and when approached, officers picked up on the smell of marijuana coming from the car. The 20-year-old driver admitted to smoking pot and had more than 28.5 grams. The 19-year-old passenger also had a small amount of pot. Both were cited and released on their promise to appear in court.

DUI

8:15 a.m., Dec. 20, Highway 1

A woman driving her car drunk, collided with a light pole near Kelly Avenue. The woman was injured in the accident, and was driving with a suspended license from a previous DUI. The 26-year-old woman had a $2,500 warrant out of San Luis Obispo. She was taken to the hospital and released on her promise to appear in court.

Hit and run

4:09 p.m., Dec. 21, Highway 92

A driver in a gray Honda collided with another car and left the scene without exchanging information.

Missing person

7 p.m., Dec. 16, Highway 92

A woman at a bus stop was shouting out that she was talking with Jesus. The woman was reported missing from Redwood City.

Property dispute

1:31 p.m., Dec. 18, Highway 92

A property owner complained about protesters handing out flyers on his property. The protesters left the area once the police arrived on the scene.

Theft

9:35 a.m., Dec. 18, Highway 1

A car owner reported a theft from an unlocked vehicle. A short time later, the woman noticed a 21-year-old man with her stolen items. The suspect was positively identified in a line up and taken to jail.

Truancy

11:28 a.m., Dec. 16, Oak Avenue

Two truant juveniles were found in a park. Officers took them back to school.

Vandalism

Dec. 22, Smith Field

Vehicles were reported driving on a baseball field.
