The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office has identified the two fishermen who died off the coast of Pillar Point Saturday.

They were 45-year-old Jim Hsu and 47-year-old David Tien. Both men were from Milpitas.

The Sheriff's Office reports that Tien, an experienced fisherman, had been berthing his boat at Pillar Point Harbor for the last three months but that he hadn't fished much out of the harbor.

Tien's boat was found capsized shortly after 10 a.m., about a mile off Pillar Point. The Pillar Point Harbormaster and the U.S. Coast Guard responded to the scene and the bodies of the two men were found in the boat, after the it was towed to shore.

Anyone who may have witnessed the capsizing or has information concerning the event are encouraged to contact Sheriff’s Detective Derron Sisneros at (650) 363-4055 or telephone the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office Anonymous Tip Line at (800) 547-2700.
