Shirley Ann Capote, 74 of Red Bluff, Calif. died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Nov. 6, 2008 after a lengthy battle with cancer.

She was born Oct. 2, 1934 in San Francisco. She and her husband of 54 years were married in Half Moon Bay and made their first home in San Mateo. Upon retirement, they moved to Red Bluff, Calif.


She owned a dance studio and taught tap and ballet. After teaching dance, she became a bookkeeper and obtained a real estate license. She loved spending time with her family and she enjoyed being with friends from the Red Hat Society.

She is survived by her husband Gerald Capote; sons Russell and Patrick Capote; daughter-in-law Lori Capote; grandchildren Jennifer and Joseph and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is set for Saturday, Nov.r 22 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Red Bluff.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
