Half Moon Bay High School's Sammy Hamilton and Bryce Williamson qualified as individuals for the

California Interscholastic Federation Cross Country meet, following their

performances at the Central Coast Section Championships Saturday at a

hot Toro Park in Salinas.

Hamilton, a junior, won her second CCS title in

three years, taking the Division IV race. She completed the 3-mile

course in 19 minutes, 37 seconds.

Williamson finished fifth in 16:55, good enough to qualify. The senior qualified for the

state meet as an individual two years ago.

The boys' team finish fifth, while the girls were seventh. Neither

place was good enough to qualify for the state meet.

The state meet takes place Nov. 29 in Fresno.
