Ketch Joanne Restaurant loses 96-year-old matriarch Ida Lena “Dolly” Franko, longtime kitchen presence and mother of Joanne. She passed away peacefully on October 19, 2008 surrounded by love, laughter and family.

Born Ida Lena Lencioni in San Bruno, Calif. Dolly was the daughter of Guilia and Daniel Lencioni, and upon the passing of her father was raised by her mother Guilia and stepfather Stephen Barbetti. She spent her early years in San Bruno and then later in South San Francisco. She was preceded in death by her brother Albert Lencioni, husband Joseph Franko, son Joseph James Franko, brothers Robert Barbetti and William Lencioni, grandsons Joey Cushieri, Joshua Franklin and Daniel Franko.

She is survived by daughters Joanne Franklin and Linda Six feathers; son Daniel Franko (Belia); grandchildren Wendy (Amy), Johan, Heidi (Albert), Rachel, Joseph, Kylie, Shelley, Dana and Lauren; great-grandchildren Joshua, Manny, Georgia, Gracie, Giovanna Lena, Hunter, Kendall; sisters-in-law Lydia Barbetti and Lillian Franko; cousin Verano Bertolli (Marie), and her many nieces and nephews.

Dolly touched many in her long life with her loving nature, sharp wit, blue eyes forever twinkling and unforgettable smile. Her Burlingame home is surrounded by the beautiful roses she tended for four decades. In death as in life, she brought the family together.

We will miss her love of See’s Candies, her homemade biscotti at Christmas, wonderful stories of the Italian and Portuguese ancestors, and, most of all, her indomitable spirit.

Ti amo a vita, Dolly. Arrivederci.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23 from 4-7 p.m. and will be followed by the Rosary at 7 p.m. Services will be held Friday, October 24 at 10 a.m. The Visitation, Rosary and services will all be held at Nauman, Lincoln & Roos Mortuary, 322 Maple Avenue South San Francisco.
