At a time when the economy is spooky and not just because it’s getting close to Halloween, Reece Computer Systems in Half Moon Bay is holding a series of free events aimed at helping residents gain or polish computer skills and save money.

These free classes will enable participants to gain new skills and brush up areas where they feel rusty. Classes will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday evenings, at Reece’s retail office in Shoreline Station in Half Moon Bay.

The classes include: “Introduction to the Personal Computer” on Oct. 21; “Introduction to Windows Vista” on Oct. 28; “Introduction to Microsoft Office 2007 and Outlook 2007” on Nov. 4; “Introduction to Microsoft Word 2007” on Nov, 11; “Introduction to Microsoft Excel 2007” on Nov. 18 and “Introduction to Microsoft Powerpoint 2007” on Nov. 25.

Business owner Terri Reece has 21 years of teaching experience in addition to years at HP, Oracle and Nestle USA. Founded in 2003 by Reece and husband Randy Reece, Reece Computer Systems is a skilled team with extensive experience in the information technology industry and was named “Small Business of the Year” for its state Senate district.
