7:45 p.m., Aug 26, San Mateo Road
A drunken 45-year-old man refused to leave a restaurant. An Officer contacted the man and arrested him for disorderly conduct.
Disturbance
11:37 a.m., Aug 26, LeMans Court
A small dog was attacked by a larger dog owned by a neighbor. The owner of the small dog said the larger one had bitten his dog before. Both owners were advised of leash laws.
6:40 p.m., Sept. 1, Poplar Street
Passengers in a vehicle reportedly initiated a verbal altercation with a group of juvenile pedestrians.
DUI
9:19 p.m., Sept. 1, Highway 1
An officer observed a vehicle with an unreadable license plate. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was found to be intoxicated. Failing the sobriety tests, the 50-year-old driver was issued a citation and transported to First Chance.
Incidents
5:25 p.m., Aug. 26, Seascape Drive
An elderly female reported a suspicious occurrence. The woman believed someone entered her home and left extra packages of toilet paper under her sinks.
1:35 p.m., Aug. 27, Highway 92
A big-rig driving on Highway 92 pulled down a telephone pole after the top of the truck caught onto the telephone wires. The driver said that he makes the trip weekly and has never had a problem clearing the wires. A witness said the wires were moving up and down.
6:20 p.m., Aug. 28, Main Street
A motorist was stuck in the center of a road median after the truck’s weight caused the vehicle to sink nearly two feet into the median’s dirt, damaging the landscaping on the median. The truck was freed with the assistance of two friends of the driver.
4:30 p.m., Sept. 1, Poplar Beach
A horse from a guided riding party stepped on an unmanned bicycle at the beach. The bicycle owner was given information on how to contact the horse owner.
Theft
4:25 p.m., Aug. 27, Highway 1
Somebody stole a cell phone and CDs from an unlocked vehicle. The stolen goods were valued at $263.
4:16 p.m., Aug. 28, Highway 1
A laptop valued at $2,000 was reported stolen from a hotel room.
Moss Beach
DUI
4:40 p.m., Aug. 24, Highway 1
Deputies were alerted to a passenger who had fallen out of a vehicle believed to be driven by a drunken driver. Deputies observed the vehicle pull onto the shoulder of the road and then back onto the highway. After being stopped, the driver admitted to drinking at a local bar. The driver was arrested after failing sobriety tests. The passenger was uninjured, but was determined to be too drunk to care for himself and was also arrested.
Pescadero
Burglary
9 a.m., Aug 18, Pescadero State Beach
After leaving their car for 15 minutes, the car owners returned to find the vehicle’s side and rear windows smashed with many personal items stolen. The stolen items were valued at approximately $10,000.
Unincorporated San Mateo County
Burglary
Two suspects, a man and a woman, broke into a locked rental car to steal numerous items. During the burglary, the renter of the car returned and tried to stop them but was assaulted. The suspects have not been identified or apprehended.
Fire
1:46 p.m., Aug. 19, Highway 92
A brush fire burned about two acres before it was extinguished. The fire was apparently started by a big-rig truck transporting heavy equipment. The exhaust system backfired and sparked the fire.
