With a goal of helping children feel at ease around an emergency room if they ever have to use one for real, the Teddy Bear Clinic welcomes children with their “sick” stuffed animals to the Seton emergency room, where doctors and nurses give them realistic examinations and “X-rays” (with a copy machine) and prescribe treatment or medicine.
Clinic director Cheryl Sinclair is welcoming memoirs — either written stories or photos — from past Teddy Bear Clinic “parents.” Those pamphlets, she said, will be available at this year’s Teddy Bear Clinic, scheduled 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sept. 28, at the hospital, and for future clinics.

Stories or photos, or both, can be sent to Sinclair via e-mail at cherylsinclair@dochs.org, or brought to her directly at the hospital. She asks that those bringing materials contact her first. To bring her your memories, or for information, contact Sinclair at 563-7121.
