Officers were called to respond to an assault involving a 21-year-old man, said to be affiliated with a gang. The man was also cited for driving a vehicle while possessing marijuana.
Disorderly conduct
8:30 p.m., Aug. 2, Kelly Avenue
Two young men were reported fighting in the roadway. Both the men were found to be intoxicated and were arrested and taken to jail.
Dog bite
1:20 p.m., July 3, Poplar Beach
An unleashed dog nipped a man’s arm. No skin was broken and the report was taken for information only.
DUI
10:45 p.m., July 31, Church Street
An officer observed a vehicle roll past a stop sign. After stopping the 23-year-old driver, the officer found that he was unlicensed, uninsured, and the driver subsequently failed a sobriety test.
5:30 p.m., Aug. 2, Miramontes Point Road
Officers responded to a two-car accident and found one driver to be intoxicated. There were no reported injuries caused by the collision.
Fire
11:22 p.m., July 29, Metzgar Street
Police responded to an alert from a trailer that caught on fire. City firefighters arrived and put out the blaze.
Suspended license
12:23 a.m., July 30, Main Street
A driver was pulled over for failing to stop at a posted sign. The officer discovered the vehicle was operating without proper lighting and had expired registration. Also, the driver’s license was suspended.
Theft
9:07 a.m., July 30, Highway 1
A store clerk noticed a customer leaving without paying for several items. Store employees detained the shopper and placed him under citizen’s arrest.
8:05 a.m., Aug. 1, San Mateo Road
Someone stole gasoline from a parked vehicle.
8 a.m., Aug. 1, Granelli Avenue
Somebody entered an unlocked vehicle and stole $10 and a small tool kit.
10:15 a.m., Aug. 1, Myrtle Street
Somebody took $40 and cigarettes from an unlocked vehicle.
Vandalism
Aug. 2, Cypress Point Road
Several mailboxes and a lawn fence were vandalized after somebody forcefully removed the mailboxes from their posts and drove over the fence several times.
8:30 a.m., Aug. 4, Cypress Point Road
A Mercedes emblem was ripped off and stolen from a parked vehicle. The emblem was valued at $50.
La Honda
Arson
1:55 a.m., July 25, La Honda Road
Deputies and fire personnel were dispatched to a vehicle that was fully engulfed in fire. After putting the fire out, officials could not identify the vehicle because the vehicle ID number and license plates had melted. The cause of the fire remains unknown, but authorities say it is suspicious.
DUI
8:47 p.m., July 25, La Honda Road
A vehicle going 70 to 75 mph tried to maneuver by a patrol car by illegally passing on a highway. The deputies pulled over the car, and found that the driver had an open beer in the front cup holder. The 31-year-old driver admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages before driving, and failed a sobriety text.

6:06 p.m., July 24, Stetson Street
Somebody stole a victim’s credit card information and purchased $11,093.32 in miscellaneous items. The victim did not know how her credit card information was stolen.
Princeton
Assault
10:49 p.m., July 26, Capistrano Road
Deputies were dispatched to a Princeton bar on the report of a battery in progress. Upon arrival, the victim was not cooperative, but others at the bar said the assailant had fled the scene. Deputies learned the suspect’s identity and went to his home. The suspect admitted to battering and being intoxicated in public.

Burglary
12:12 p.m., July 28, Cabrillo Highway
Sometime after June 24, a group of people entered private property to gain access to three factory buildings. The party stole large conduits containing copper wire from the outside and inside of the buildings. A total of $5,000 in copper was stolen.
