Barbara Leah Inch (Blakesly) passed away quietly early Saturday morning, May 10, 2008 in Acapulco, Mexico after a short illness. Barbara and her husband of 44 years, Dennis, were returning home from a cruise through the Panama Canal. Barbara became very ill and had to be hospitalized in Acapulco. The cruise through the Canal was the dream of a lifetime for Barbara.

Barbara was born on November 9, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois. After high school she moved to Reno, Nevada, where she met Dennis. Barbara and Dennis were married on St. Patrick’s Day in 1964 and made their home in Montara. They were overjoyed to welcome their son, Brian Dennis Inch, into their happy home in 1984. The Inch home always had an open door policy, and many people became very close friends and extended family through the years with both Barbara and Dennis.

Barbara is survived by her devoted husband Dennis, her loving son Brian, loving sister Mary Blakesly of Millbrae, brother-in-law Patrick of Reno, Nevada, a recently found and loved half sister Carol Greely of Orange, California, best friends Marlene Greer of Hawaii and Bobbie Perdue-Ibieta of Pacifica. Barbara was also the surrogate Mom to Carla Weinberger and surrogate Grandmother to Jo Jo Weinberger. Extended family includes Lily and Dennis Dahl, Jeanette and Greg Naumann, Mary Ann Ryan, Doug and Jerry Garcia, Jenny Mitchum and the Iverson family. Barbara will be missed a great deal by a legion of other friends, and she will live on in the hearts and minds of all who loved her.

A celebration of Barbara’s life is being planned and will be announced when the plans are completed.
