Julio "Mickey" Barsuglia

Mickey, a lifelong coastside resident, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2008 at age 88.

A veteran of WWII, he participated in the D-Day invasions of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. He received many commendations and medals for his service in the European theater. He was also a longtime member of Teamsters Local Union No. 216.

An avid gardener, he loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time at the harbor and being with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, of 53 years and son Michael (Yuri), daughter Laurie, brother Charles, grandchildren Robert and Sophia, and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a public visitation at Miller-Dutra on Wednesday, June 4 at 4:00 p.m. and a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. There will be a funeral Mass on Thursday, June 5 at 11:00 a.m.
