| Marijuana smoke leads to other charges Published/Last Modified on Thursday, May 22, 2008 10:19 AM PDT Half Moon Bay Police responded at 3:50 p.m., May 18, after someone complained that men were smoking marijuana in a car parked along Highway 1. The driver not only had drugs, police also discovered the 27-year-old from South San Francisco was wanted on a misdemeanor warrant. He was also not licensed to drive. Half Moon Bay Barking dog 1:45 a.m., May 13, Ronald Court Police responded to a complaint of barking dogs, and the owner agreed to take them inside. 11:33 a.m., May 14, Alameda Avenue Police were called to the neighborhood and left complaint forms with the owners of the dogs. 11:39 p.m., May 16, River Oaks Road Police responded to a report of a barking dog and asked the owner to take care of the situation. Battery 5:33 p.m., May 17, Miramontes Point Road After a child was hit with a golf ball, the mother and the golfer got into an altercation. The case is being sent to the district attorney for review. Disorderly conduct 3:05 p.m., May 14, Highway 1 Police responded after a complaint of a teenage shoplifter. The 16-year-old boy appeared intoxicated and combative. He was released to a parent who took him to Seton Medical Center Coastside for evaluation. 9:23 p.m., May 16, Kelly Avenue Police on foot patrol noticed a 44-year-old Antioch man who was drunk and incapable of caring for himself. He was taken to county jail and later released. Driving without a license 10:23 a.m., May 13, Highway 1 Police cited a 29-year-old Half Moon Bay man for driving without a license after stopping him for a traffic violation. 11 a.m., May 13, Highway 1 Police stopped a 27-year-old Moss Beach man for blocking an intersection and ultimately cited him for having no license. 4:03 p.m., May 13, Highway 1 A 30-year-old Half Moon Bay man was cited for driving without a license after being stopped for having no brake lights. 3:45 p.m., May 14, Highway 1 Police cited a 25-year-old Half Moon Bay man for driving without a license after the man was involved in a minor accident. 4:41 a.m., May 16, Highway 1 Thirty-six-year-old Vlad Garris, of Half Moon Bay, was charged with a variety of offenses when police stopped him for improper lighting. He was also cited for driving on a suspended license, having no insurance and for driving with a blood-alcohol of over .01 while on probation for a previous DUI. Drugs 6:57 p.m., May 16, Miramontes Street Police approached a group of teens when they saw one smoking a cigar. The 16-year-old had a large amount of money and suspected controlled substances. He was taken to Hillcrest youth services center. DUI 11:09 p.m., May 14, Highway 1 Police responded to a report of a hit-and-run. They located the vehicle, driven by a 32-year-old Half Moon Bay man. He failed field sobriety tests and was charged with hit-and-run, being unlicensed and having no insurance. Fighting 10:05 a.m., May 16, Lewis Foster Drive Two juveniles had to be separated after fighting. Neither wished to prosecute. 9:38 p.m., May 16, Main Street Two 15-year-old girls were involved in a fight near the end of Rock the Block. The police report is not yet complete. 11:56 p.m., May 16, Pilarcitos Street Police separated two El Granada residents after they were found fighting. One had drugs on him and the other was charged with giving false information to police. Both were taken to county jail. Indecent exposure 2 p.m., May 17, Poplar Beach Police cited a 28-year-old Half Moon Bay man for allegedly walking on the beach with no clothes. Open container 1:57 p.m., May 16, Highway 1 Two San Mateo residents were cited for having open containers of alcohol after police stopped them for throwing trash out of the window of their moving vehicle. Restraining order 7:09 p.m., May 16, Kelly Avenue A woman told police that a person who the court ordered to stay away from her was seen near her home. The case was sent to the district attorney. Theft 6 p.m., May 13, Redondo Beach Road Someone broke a car window and removed items inside. |
