A Cinco de Mayo party will benefit the Half Moon Bay High School Parent Advisory Council this Friday in Princeton.

Scheduled for 7 p.m. to midnight, the party will be held at the Harbor House at 346 Princeton Ave. in Princeton on Friday, May 9.

The Cinco de Mayo-themed festivities will include food from the Spanishtown Mexican restaurant in Half Moon Bay, along with margaritas, beer, wine and sodas, and live music from the South City Blues Band, whose lead musician is a Coastside resident.

Proceeds will go to the council, which customarily funds a variety of programs for students of Half Moon Bay High. In existence since the mid-1990s, the council has funded textbooks and field trips for AP science students.

The council has also funded a grantwriter for the high school, as well as programs in academics, the arts, athletics and technology.

“We’re extra muscle behind the school, to support programs and needs of the students and faculty,” said Jan Clark of the council.

Tickets to the fundraiser are $40 in advance or $50 at the door.

For more information, contact Clark at 712-9598 or the high school at 712-7200.
