Deputies approached the occupants of a car parked at the east end of the road. They smelled marijuana and located the drug along with cocaine and a digital scale that indicated a sales operation. Both occupants, neither of whom were named by the Sheriff’s Office, were charged with a variety of felony drug offenses.
DUI
11:20 p.m., April 19, Coronado Avenue
Deputies were en route to a traffic accident when someone pointed out the intoxicated driver of one of the cars. The 26-year-old El Granada resident admitted to being drunk and was taken to county jail.

Driving without a license

Police cited a 17-year-old boy for passing on the left shoulder and not having a license or proof of insurance.
8:45 p.m., April 23, Highway 1
An 18-year-old Half Moon Bay woman was cited for driving without a license.
DUI
4:05 p.m., April 21, Main Street
Police were called about a driver weaving on Interstate 280 before turning onto Highway 92 toward Half Moon Bay. They contacted a 60-year-old Moss Beach man after he bumped the curb hard enough to bounce his car. He appeared to be intoxicated to police and was transported to county jail.

3:35 p.m., April 25, Kelly Avenue
Two 14-year-old boys were found to be fighting but had no visible injuries, and they were sent on their way.
Hit and run
6:35 p.m., April 23, Highway 1
Someone witnessed a driver back into another car and drive off. The witness left a note on the victim’s car with the driver’s license number of the suspect, and police have now mailed a letter to the registered owner of the car causing the damage, asking that he call them.
Missing person
6 p.m., April 22, Pinehurst Lane
Police were investigating a possible case of contributing to the delinquency of a minor after finding a missing 14-year-old girl at the home of an 18-year-old man. The man reportedly lied to police about the girl’s whereabouts. The case will be forwarded to the district attorney to determine whether charges are forthcoming.
Reckless driving
3:05 p.m., April 26, Highway 1
Police stopped a 26-year-old Belmont man who was running through traffic signals. The man told police he was in a hurry to see a family member in the hospital. He was cited for reckless driving.
Restraining order
April 22, Magnolia Street
Someone called police to say a person with a restraining order limiting contact had nonetheless been receiving annoying calls from the subject of the court order.
Suspicious circumstance
12 p.m., April 20, Church Street
Congregants called police when a man interrupted services to ask if there was a church in town on “Notre Dame Street.”
2:30 p.m., April 23, Kelly Avenue
A citizen reported that a juvenile was pulling up plants in Mac Dutra Park. The child was admonished and the plants returned.
Theft
3:45 p.m., April 19, Highway 92
Someone broke out a car’s window to take $15 left between the front seats. The thief did not take a purse or wallet that were also in the car.

A 43-year-old transient was arrested and taken to county jail for taking a can of beer.
Traffic accident
7:10 a.m., April 25, Kelly Avenue
A woman told police that a pedestrian ran into the path of her vehicle and was hit. The injured party fell down, but got up and waved as if to say he was OK. The driver wanted the incident documented.

Officers served a no-bail misdemeanor warrant on a 29-year-old Half Moon Bay man.

Police approached the occupants of a suspicious vehicle and found more than an ounce of marijuana in the car, along with a scale and other sales paraphernalia. While deputies were talking to one juvenile suspect, the boy got a text message on his cell phone from someone hoping to purchase drugs.

Overnight, someone entered an unlocked vehicle and took a computer and cell phone that were together valued at $3,500.
Verbal altercation

Two painters got into an argument over payment. One was paid by the parents of the other, but he later went to the Sheriff’s substation to say the other painter threatened to “bash his head in with a baseball bat,” according to reports.

Someone took a 1984 Cadillac Coupe deVille from the parking lot of a local nursery.
DUI
1:19 p.m., April 20, Higgins Purisima Canyon
Deputies spotted a car that was all over the road, and they had to swerve onto the shoulder to avoid being hit. They pulled over a 62-year-old Mountain View man and charged him with DUI.
