Cynthia D’Agosta will be taking the reins of the Committee for Green Foothills on May 1, the Peninsula nonprofit announced last week.

D’Agosta comes most recently from the San Francisquito Creek Joint Powers Authority, and holds degrees from the University of California, Santa Cruz and Harvard University.

The Committee for Green Foothills is a Palo Alto-based group that lobbies for open space issues in San Mateo and Santa Cruz Counties. Board President and Midcoast resident April Vargas said that the group is currently campaigning for the June 3 ballot measure for a one-eighth of a cent sales tax to benefit San Mateo County parklands, among other projects. Vargas credited outgoing acting director Corrina Marshall with “great fundraising and board development skills,” and added that Marshall will have continued involvement with Green Foothills.

D’Agosta will be paid between $85,000 and $95,000, according to a job description on the nonprofit’s Web site.
