Sheriff's deputies arrested a 20-year-old Half Moon Bay resident after a traffic stop. The man admitted to having four beers before driving and he failed the tests. He was taken to county jail.
9:05 p.m., Feb. 28, Coral Reef Avenue
Several area residents flagged down a passing deputy to tell him they heard a crash. Someone had run into the bus stop and the trail of debris led to a neighbor's house. Deputies talked to a 34-year-old resident there who at first denied the accident but eventually admitted he had been drinking and that it was his fault. He failed sobriety tests and was taken to county jail.

11:30 a.m., Feb. 26, Bridgeport Drive
An El Granada mother turned to deputies after her son allegedly stole her credit card. The woman's son, who was already jailed on other charges, admitted using the credit card number to make an online purchase.

A citizen brought two boxes of ammunition to the police station so that it could be properly destroyed.

2:25 p.m., March 3, Main Street
Police admonished an elderly woman for hitting an elderly man with a stick after finding him sitting on her usual bench. The man was uninjured and didn't wish to prosecute.

Police received a complaint about a loud dog.

8:30 a.m., Feb. 26, Church Street
A woman called police after her ex-boyfriend allegedly hit her, leaving visible injuries. Edwardo Manana, 57, of Half Moon Bay, was arrested on battery charges and taken to county jail.
Driving without a license
5:50 a.m., Feb. 25, Main Street
A 37-year-old Half Moon Bay resident was cited for not having working lights on his car and for driving without a license.
6:39 a.m., Feb. 25, Main Street
A 33-year-old Half Moon Bay resident was cited for having overly tinted windows and no license.
12:07 a.m., March 2, Highway 1
Police stopped a vehicle driving without headlights and found the 27-year-old driver from Redwood City had no license and that he was wanted on a misdemeanor warrant. He was taken to county jail.
Drugs
2:25 a.m., March 2, Highway 1
Police questioned three teenage boys and found them in possession of a small amount of marijuana and a bottle of brandy. They were released to their parents.
DUI
Feb. 26, Highway 1
Police cited a 49-year-old El Granada resident for driving under the influence.
Golf ball
12:15 p.m., Feb. 29, Redondo Beach Road
A woman at the Coastside Infant Toddler Center reported being struck by an errant golf ball that came from the adjacent golf course.

Police called Caltrans to replace a sign covered in gang-related graffiti.
Restraining order
11:57 a.m., Feb. 22, Main Street
A caller complained that a man was in violation of his restraining order for walking by a downtown business. But it turned out the court order had expired.
7:35 p.m., Feb. 28, Grove Street
Someone reported a restraining order violation when the alleged offender drove by his house. But an officer determined the order was no longer valid.
Suspicious circumstances

An elderly woman called police to report an upsetting phone call. She gave the caller, who claimed to be taking a survey, her credit card number and possibly Social Security number and date of birth.
Theft
Feb. 18, Willow Avenue
Sometime in the last two months, a jewelry case was stolen. It contained a passport, and the case had to be documented in order for the victim to get a new passport.
7:07 p.m., Feb. 25, Highway 92
Police responded to the theft of a cell phone. They found a suspect in possession of the phone and he turned out to be too drunk to care for himself. Albino Reyna, 44, of San Francisco was arrested for theft, disorderly conduct and obstructing a police officer.

An officer took a report of brass items stolen from someone's front yard.
Feb. 13, Wavecrest Road
Someone reported the theft of tools from a shed and damage to fencing.

Someone reported that he returned home after five months away and discovered his 1981 red Harley Davidson motorcycle missing.

An officer took a report of two broken windows of cars parked on the street overnight.

Someone reported that the rear view mirror of his car was broken while the car was parked overnight.

Police on patrol spotted a car parked at the beach. One of the occupants had an outstanding warrant.

11:33 a.m., Feb. 23, Montara State Beach
Someone stole three purses, three wallets and two cell phones from an unlocked motor home.

12:01 a.m., Feb. 23, Marine Boulevard
Deputies were called about a disturbance at Seton Medical Center Coastside. After investigating, they found that 48-year-old Carrie Gibson, who had no known address, was wanted on a felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance. She was arrested and taken to county jail.
DUI
5:23 p.m., Feb. 22, Marine Boulevard
Sheriff's deputies were called about a possible drunken driver. They stopped a 58-year-old Moss Beach man after seeing his vehicle cross the double-yellow line. He failed the sobriety tests and was taken to jail.

Mountain lion
10:31 p.m., Feb. 28, Skyline Boulevard
Someone called Sheriff's deputies to say he was driving south on Highway 35 when he noticed an animal run across the road. He described it as 'a huge mountain lion.'
