Half Moon Bay Police stopped to talk to six teenagers in a local hamburger joint at lunchtime on Valentine's Day and learned that all were supposed to be in school over the hill. A 19-year-old was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and all were taken back to schools in Redwood City.

Police found that one party to a minor accident, a 36-year-old Half Moon Bay woman, was driving without a license. She was cited and released.

A woman told police she received nine unwanted phone calls from her boyfriend's ex-girlfriend. The case was turned over to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.
9:18 p.m., Feb. 14
A woman called police to say her ex-boyfriend was making harassing telephone calls to her. She was told how to get a restraining order and police cautioned the man not to call again.
Road rage
2:15 p.m., Feb. 13, Highway 92
A caller told police that the driver in front of him braked for no reason. The caller followed the other driver and the second driver stopped, exited the vehicle and reportedly yelled at the caller, who then reported the incident to police. No citations were made.
Theft

Officers took a report of the theft of a statue of a bronze mermaid. The statue, which was in the victim's front yard, was valued at $750.
4 p.m., Feb. 9, Kelly Avenue
Someone reported his black Specialized "Stump Jumper" bicycle was stolen from the back of his truck. It was valued at more than $2,000.
5:30 a.m., Feb. 13, Alsace Lorraine
Someone attempted to take a statue from a residence and broke it in the process. The statue was valued at $280.

Someone poured sugar, oatmeal, petroleum jelly and baby oil on the victim's car and then wrote insults in the goo.

Someone smashed a car window and took various items that were inside.

A thief stole the license plate from a car parked at a local restaurant.

Deputies went to a house looking for a man wanted on a $20,000 misdemeanor warrant. While there, the suspect drove up and admitted that he hadn't completed terms of his release from jail. He was taken to county jail again.
La Honda

9:52 p.m., Feb. 8, La Honda Road
Deputies responded to a complaint of a car blocking the roadway. One of the men in the car, 37-year-old Jerome Williams of Corte Madera, was found to have a felony warrant for his arrest. The other occupant was too drunk to care for himself. Both were taken to county jail.
