The newspaper reported that Deputy Keith O'Dell approached the man's car, parked in a turnout below Devil's Slide, after 11 p.m. Saturday. That's when O'Dell saw an arm protruding from some coverings in the backseat.
Neither the dead man nor the driver was named by authorities as of Sunday afternoon. It was not immediately clear whether the driver faced charges. The newspaper reported that Sheriff's officials obtained evidence that suggested the crime occurred in another county.
