ID THIEVES GO INTERNATIONAL

An El Granada resident walked into the San Mateo County Sheriff's Moss Beach substation on Jan. 14 to report that someone used his Citibank Visa account to make a series of purchases in England. The purchases, totaling more than $2,800, were made over four days in November in Tesco department stores.

EL GRANADA

DUI

8:37 p.m., Jan. 14, Highway 1

A 22-year-old El Granada resident was arrested for DUI after Sheriff's deputies observed him weaving out of his lane of travel.

HALF MOON BAY

Driving without a license

12:25 p.m., Jan. 14, Lewis Foster Drive

When a 19-year-old Half Moon Bay resident failed to yield, he was stopped for a stop sign violation. He was also found to be unlicensed and without insurance.

11 p.m., Jan. 14, Highway 1

A 29-year-old man from Half Moon Bay was stopped for having a headlight out. He was also found to be without a license.

11:58 p.m., Jan. 14, Highway 1

A 48-year-old driver from Pacifica was cited for driving too fast and having no license or insurance.

11:52 p.m., Jan. 15, Highway 1

A 19-year-old from Half Moon Bay was stopped for having a headlight out and subsequently ticketed for having no license or insurance.

Hit and run

10:37 p.m., Jan. 18, Grand Avenue

Officers responded to a hit-and-run traffic collision. Once there, they spotted damage to a nearby vehicle and the owner of that car admitted to being involved in a collision. The case was forwarded to the district attorney for review.

Theft

12:29 a.m., Jan. 15, Highway 1

Police took a report of a bundle of firewood that was taken from in front of a store.

2 p.m., Jan. 18, Main Street

Two bottles of brandy were taken from a downtown merchant.

Vandalism

1 p.m., Jan. 15, Highway 1

The owner of a bus told police it was vandalized when parked overnight. The windshield and hood had been damaged and signs were missing.

Warrants

1:41 a.m., Jan. 14, Poplar Street

Police on routine patrol stopped two men. One, a 40-year-old from Half Moon Bay, was cited for having an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. He was released on his promise to appear in court.

MONTARA

DUI

11:41 p.m., Jan. 15, Etheldore Street

A 43-year-old Montara resident was arrested for DUI after admitting to drinking at a local bar and failing field sobriety tests. He was booked into county jail.

ID theft

6 p.m., Jan. 10, 9th Street

Over the holidays, someone tried to use a Coastsider's personal information to open several lines of credit.

MOSS BEACH

DUI

12:15 a.m., Jan. 17, Highway 1

A 28-year-old Half Moon Bay resident was stopped for speeding and taken to county jail after he failed field sobriety tests.

PRINCETON

Theft

3:18 p.m., Jan. 6, Capistrano Road

A woman told Sheriff's deputies that she returned to her car to find the rear license plate missing.
