Burglary turns to chase, capture

San Mateo County Sheriff's deputies, responding to a burglary to a home off of Skyline Boulevard, briefly chased a car before catching the driver. Colby Perkins of San Mateo was arrested at gunpoint and charged with felony burglary and possession of a controlled substance. Two accomplices escaped by running into the woods shortly before 8 p.m. on Thursday.

HALF MOON BAY

DUI

1:43 a.m., Nov. 13, San Mateo Road

Police were called to a restaurant because two patrons refused to leave when asked to do so. They were gone when police arrived but stopped at a nearby convenience store, where police spotted their car. The 26-year-old Half Moon Bay resident who was driving was arrested for DUI, an open container and having a suspended license.

5:07 p.m., Nov. 16, Poplar Avenue

Three Half Moon Bay teenagers were charged with being underage with alcohol after police spotted them drinking at Poplar Beach. The driver was charged with DUI and being unlicensed.

Suspicious circumstance

Nov. 13, Myrtle Street

A woman received harassing phone calls and suspected they were coming from a solicitor she had asked to leave her property a day before.

Theft

1995, Alpine Road

Police told a Half Moon Bay resident that a gun he had reported stolen in Portolla Valley, in about 1995, had been found on a criminal in San Francisco.

Threats

1:39 p.m., Nov. 16, Lewis Foster Drive

Police took a report after Half Moon Bay High School officials suspended a 15-year-old student for flashing gang signs and threatening an administrator. The student was suspended for five days, and a case of participating in a criminal street gang was forwarded to the district attorney.

Vandalism

12:10 p.m., Nov. 15, Lewis Foster Drive

Someone told officers that a vehicle was scratched with a key and vandalized with paint. Most of the paint was easily wiped away and the report was made just to document the incident.

Vicious dog

9:49 p.m., Nov. 17, Coastside Trail

A woman reported she was walking her dog when it was attacked by an unleashed pit bull. She said the pit bull's owner fled the scene. The dog that was attacked suffered a punctured tongue and other injuries.

Theft

10 a.m., Nov. 10, Farallone Avenue

A woman told deputies that someone took numerous ramps used by her disabled son. The wooden ramps had been painted to match the home and were worth about $375 each.

MOSS BEACH

Theft

10:39 a.m., Nov. 9, Orval Avenue

A Moss Beach resident told deputies that her adult daughter used fraudulent information to make $5,000 in credit card purchases. The woman's daughter is on probation in another county. The case was forwarded to the probation department for investigation.

PRINCETON

Battery

10:15 p.m., Nov. 8, California Avenue

An 18-year-old Half Moon Bay man was charged with battery on a police officer, possession of alcohol, possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance, after scuffling with a San Mateo County Sheriff's deputy. The teen asked the deputy to "give him a break" when asked about beer in his hand. Officials say he tried to run and a tussle ensued.

Warrants

7:32 p.m., Nov. 15, Capistrano Road

Deputies saw an obviously intoxicated man walking into a local bar. They stopped to check on the man, who turned out to be a 45-year-old Moss Beach resident wanted on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. He was taken to county jail.

UNINCORPORATED SAN MATEO COUNTY

Theft

8:22 a.m., Nov. 18, Bean Hollow Road

Someone made off with an estimated $10,000 in power tools that had been stored in a construction company trailer.
