Police arrest two during burglary

Half Moon Bay Police say they caught a pair of out-of-towners in the middle of a burglary in progress on Miramontes Point Road. They nabbed 21-year-old Daniel Tennyson of Portland, Ore., and 20-year-old Kelly Nichols of Fountain Hills, Ariz., at 1:25 a.m. Nov. 8. They were charged with possession of stolen property and possession of marijuana and taken to county jail.

EL GRANADA

1:55 a.m., Nov. 3, Sonora Aveune

San Mateo County deputies stopped a car after the driver piloted it down the wrong side of the road. When deputies asked the 46-year-old El Granada resident how much he had had to drink, he responded, "Too much." He was taken to county jail.

Theft

12:38 p.m., Nov. 8, Avenue Balboa

Deputies responded after a report that someone had broken into a locked garage and stolen several boxes containing vases. The total loss was put at about $6,000.

HALF MOON BAY

Disorderly conduct

12:08 a.m., Nov. 5, San Mateo Road

Police contacted a 21-year-old Half Moon Bay man who was too drunk to care for himself. He was arrested and taken to First Chance.

3:39 a.m., Nov. 7, Highway 1

A woman was bothering store employees, who called police to give her a trespass warning.

10:17 p.m., Nov. 7, Highway 1

Police arrested a 58-year-old Redwood City man who became combative with hotel staff. He was charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication and taken to county jail.

Driving without a license

3:38 p.m., Nov. 8

Police stopped an off-road motorcyclist and found the 21-year-old Half Moon Bay man to have no license and to be in possession of marijuana. He was cited and his bike was impounded.

Truancy

11:10 a.m., Nov. 7, Highway 1

Officers encountered a suspicious juvenile and determined he was truant and violating terms of his probation. He was returned to school and the case forwarded to the district attorney.

Vandalism

Nov. 5, Lewis Foster Drive

School administrators reported someone put glue into several locks at the high school.

7:45 a.m., Nov. 9, Mill Street

Someone threw a rock through a business window.

1:20 p.m., Nov. 2

A woman reported that she parked outside the private gate and walked to her cabin. When she returned to her car, she found two tires slashed.

MONTARA

4:10 p.m., Nov. 6, Date Street

Someone reported that a vandal had thrown a cement block through the windshield of his recreational vehicle. There were no immediate suspects.

MOSS BEACH

Theft

7 p.m., Nov. 2, Tierra Alta Street

Someone broke into two cars, stealing $530 worth of items from the vehicles.

2:30 p.m., Nov. 8, Cypress Avenue

The victim of a residential burglary told deputies that someone entered through an unlocked side door and took jewelry. Nothing else was disturbed.

UNINCORPORATED SAN MATEO COUNTY

10:30 p.m., Nov. 8, Highway 1

On neighbor suspects another of throwing eggs at her car, causing more than $1,000 in damage.
