San Mateo County Sheriff's deputies saw an 87-year-old man parked in the parking lot of the Moss Beach substation and asked him if he was OK. The man told deputies he had become lost and was tired of driving. Deputies checked and found the man had been reported missing in Santa Clara County. They called people responsible for the man's well-being and all ended well.

After watching a car swerve over the center line several times, deputies stopped a 31-year-old San Francisco resident. He was arrested for DUI and taken to county jail.

Police responding to a traffic collision found a passenger who was too drunk to care for himself. The 27-year-old San Francisco resident was charged with disorderly conduct and taken to First Chance. A 35-year-old Vallejo woman was charged with driving under the influence and hit-and-run after her car collided with a guardrail and flipped during the same incident.
8:45 p.m., Nov. 2, Lewis Foster Drive
Police arrested an 18-year-old Half Moon Bay man after finding him too drunk to care for himself. He was transported by ambulance to an area hospital and subsequently released.

10:38 p.m., Nov. 4, Highway 1
An officer on patrol found three juveniles between the ages of 15 and 17 behind Strawflower Village and determined all were under the influence of alcohol. One was charged with possession of marijuana and two with possession of tobacco by a minor.
Hit-and-run
12:21 a.m., Nov. 3, Johnston Street
A poor driver apparently hit a parked car that careened into another car and ultimately damaged four parked cars. Witnesses described a dark-colored minivan in the area at the time of the collision.
School disturbance

A student violated unspecified school rules and the police were called. The matter ultimately was handled by administrators.
Suspicious circumstance
6:22 p.m., Oct. 23, Poplar Beach
A concerned citizen called police after seeing an adult grab a child around the neck. It turned out the 9-year-old child was just fooling around with his father.

Someone reported that his 1991 Honda Civic had been stolen from where it was parked overnight.

A downtown business owner reported the theft of $760 worth of copper wire from the property.

2:58 p.m., Nov. 4, Stone Pine Road
Police warned a man to stay out of a Half Moon Bay restaurant after patrons said the man was making inappropriate sexual comments to women in the business.

Gang-related grafitti was found on a trash can near Strawflower Village.
Nov. 2, Mirada Road
Someone took down some fencing, apparently to gain access to the beach.

12:12 a.m., Oct. 28, Devil's Slide
Deputies stopped a 46-year-old Princeton man after he crossed the double-yellow line several times while traversing Devil's Slide. He was arrested for DUI and taken to county jail.
PESCADERO
DUI
10:42 p.m, Oct. 27, Highway 1
Deputies were dispatched to the scene of an accident with unknown injuries. They found a car that had crashed into a eucalyptus tree on Cascade Ranch Road. There was blood in the driver's seat but no driver at the wheel. They were directed to a nearby farmhouse where they found a 25-year-old Pescadero resident who appeared to be drunk and in need of medical attention. He was taken to the hospital and charged with DUI.
