Teens lead police on chase through Half Moon Bay

A 13-year-old boy was charged with reckless driving and evading police after failing to stop for Half Moon Bay Police officers Saturday afternoon. Police tried to stop a dirt bike with two riders aboard near the intersection of First and Poplar streets, at about 1:52 p.m., Saturday. The riders ran through five stop signs before they were stopped. The driver was charged; the passenger was released into the custody of his grandmother.

Reckless driving

10:15 p.m., Oct. 13, Avenue Portola

San Mateo County Sheriff's deputies at first couldn't find three cars that were reportedly "doing donuts" in the area. Eventually, deputies spotted two of the cars parked in front of a residence in the area. The drivers were cited for reckless driving.

Burglary

Oct. 18, San Mateo Road

Police investigated the attempted theft of metal piping and wires. Thieves broke in through a skylight.

Driving without a license

7:50 a.m., Oct. 15, Highway 1

Police cited a 24-year-old Half Moon Bay resident for driving without a license after she was involved in a minor traffic collision.

10:22 p.m., Oct. 17, Highway 1

A 19-year-old Half Moon Bay resident was cited for driving too fast and not having a license nor proof of insurance.

Disorderly conduct

2:38 p.m., Oct. 20, Amesport Landing

Police rousted a 21-year-old transient who was sleeping by a Dumpster. He was charged with public intoxication and taken to county jail.

Fight

12:45 p.m., Oct. 16, Lewis Foster Drive

Two 15-year-old boys were separated by police after fighting. The case will be sent to juvenile probation officers for review.

10:30 p.m., Oct. 20, Main Street

Police responded to a fight and arrested 22-year-old Andres Duenas of Half Moon Bay for fighting in public and 26-year-old Armando Serrano for assault and battery. Police say they watched as Serrano punched another man in the face.

Injured animal

10:49 p.m., Oct. 19, Highway 1

An injured deer was euthanized by police after sustaining life-threatening injuries in a collision with a car. The incident occurred near Kehoe Avenue.

Vandalism

3:25 p.m., Oct. 21, Church Street

Someone threw a sprinkler head through the window of a restroom at Cunha Intermediate School.

Stolen car

5 p.m., Oct. 19, Highway 1

Police responded to a report of the theft of a car that was taken while parked at Shoreline Station. The missing car is a 1991 Toyota Camry.

Theft

9 a.m., Oct. 15, Main Street

Someone stole a banner, valued at $200, from a downtown business.

7:08 p.m., Oct. 17, Turnberry Road

An officer took a report of a missing security gate remote. The device was later found under the front seat of the reporting party's car.

5 p.m., Oct. 18, Kelly Avenue

A child's backpack was taken from the skate park. It was valued at $20.

Suspicious incident

7:06 p.m., Oct. 12, Barranca Street

A woman told police that a juvenile was staring into her home. She said she asked him to leave but he kept returning.

UNINCORPORATED SAN MATEO COUNTY

Car theft

1:50 p.m., Oct. 14, Higgins Canyon Road

Someone stole a 1987 silver Honda motorcycle from its parking spot on Higgins Canyon Road.
