Drunken pedestrian suffers minor injuries in collision

A 19-year-old Half Moon Bay man was treated and released from San Mateo General Hospital on Sunday after he was hit by a car while trying to hitchhike on Highway 1. The collision occurred about 1:30 a.m. The man was charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct. The driver was not charged.

HALF MOON BAY

Assault

6:10 p.m., Oct. 14, Main Street

Police were called after an unidentified man allegedly assaulted three people. One of the victims struck back, injuring the instigator. None of those assaulted wished to prosecute.

9:30 p.m., Oct. 14, Main Street

A 33-year-old Palo Alto man allegedly grabbed an acquaintance around the neck and punched him in the face. While the victim declined to prosecute, the aggressor was charged with public intoxication and taken to county jail.

Barking dog

1:45 p.m., Oct. 8, Grove Street

Someone called Half Moon Bay Police to complain about a neighbor's noisy dog.

Disturbance

12:55 a.m., Oct. 10, San Mateo Road

An unwanted customer led to a police call. The customer was warned to stay away and when he returned, police were called again. No charges were filed.

10:55 a.m., Oct. 11, Miramontes Point Road

Police responded to a landlord-tenant dispute. The tenant had reportedly been harassing other tenants and officers told the landlord how the eviction process works.

Drugs

2:46 p.m., Oct. 13, Kelly Avenue

Officers working the Pumpkin Festival crowd learned of a possible drug deal happening in the restroom at Kelly Avenue and Main Street. They arrested a 33-year-old Half Moon Bay man for possession of methamphetamine and took him to county jail.

Obstruction

10:10 a.m., Oct. 1, Pear Orchard

A truant juvenile, who fled when police came to escort him to school, faces charges of obstructing a police officer. In addition, the case will be forwarded to juvenile probation officials for review.

11:55 a.m., Oct. 9, Kelly Avenue

Officers tried to contact two teens - a boy and a girl - who were found in an abandoned house. The two attempted a getaway, but were caught. The boy had marijuana and the girl had cigarettes. The two were charged with possession and obstruction and released to their parents.

Public intoxication

11:36 p.m., Oct. 10, Spruce Street

A 20-year-old La Honda resident was taken to county jail after being found to be too drunk to care for himself.

4:24 p.m., Oct. 13, Fourth Avenue

Officers cited a 19-year-old man for being a minor in possession of alcohol after being called about drunken teens riding their bikes in the neighborhood.

Theft

Oct. 11, Lewis Foster Drive

Someone stole a portable light standard from a construction site. The equipment was valued at $4,000.

Vandalism

7:30 a.m., Oct. 12, Pacific Avenue

Police say a resident reported that someone struck his vehicle "with a blunt object" overnight as it was parked in his driveway.

Unattended child

Oct. 13, San Mateo Road

A bystander called police after noticing a child left in an unlocked and running vehicle parked in a bank parking lot. The mother was found inside the bank and admonished.

Unlicensed driver

7:05 p.m., Oct. 13, Kelly Avenue

A policeman stopped a 25-year-old Watsonville resident after the man made an illegal U-turn. It turned out the man was driving on a suspended New York driver's license. He was cited and released.
