| Sports Salute to Half Moon Bay 10-and-under Little League All-Star team Published/Last Modified on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 12:43 PM PDT The Half Moon Bay 10-and-under Little League All-Star team claimed the District 52 title. It's the first time that a 10-and-under Little League team from the coast had won the title. The win sent Half Moon Bay to the sectional tournament, where Half Moon Bay's season ended with a 1-2 record. In the District title game, Half Moon Bay trailed San Carlos, 6-2, heading into the bottom of the fifth. Half Moon Bay scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth. In the sixth, Derek Ackerman brought in the tying run on an infield out, and Chet Silveria scored Anthony Garcia with the winning run on an infield single. |
