"We do have personnel on the scene assigned to the situation right now," said Detective Sgt. Linda Gibbons. She said crews would attempt to get to the body as soon as conditions are deemed safe.
The body appears to be located in a narrow inlet on the point between Montara State Beach and Edun Cove, with long stretches of loose slopes and cliffs above. Consistent surf pounded the rocky area and attempts by Pillar Point Harbor Patrol rescuers on Personal Water Craft to get a better look at the situation were unsuccessful.

Investigators don't yet know the sex, clothing or condition of the body, said Gibbons. She noted there was a weeks-old unsolved disappearance in immediate vicinity.
