Two Half Moon Bay Little League All-Star teams are District 52 champions.

The Juniors claimed their third straight title on July 10, with a 17-5 decision over Redwood City National.

Two days later, the 10-and-under team won its first title for that age group, defeating San Carlos, 7-6.

Ted Fitz is greeted by teammates after scoring Half Moon Bay's first run in its 17-5 win over Redwood City National to claim the District 52 title.

Both teams were scheduled to take part in the Sectional tournaments. The Juniors Tournament started over the weekend in Fremont. Meanwhile, the 10-year-olds begin sectional tournament Thursday in Pleasanton.

Both teams entered their respective championship games undefeated. But a loss forced an extra game for both teams.

The 10-year-olds then needed to rally in the final game. Down 6-2 heading into the bottom of the fifth, Half Moon Bay started its rally.

Half Moon Bay scored three runs in the fifth, with Cody Dexter hitting a two-run single. Josh McKnight added a run-scoring single.

With one out and runners on second and third, Derek Ackerman hit a ground ball to first to bring in the tying run. Chet Silveria hit a grounder that just rolled off the shortstop's glove to score Anthony Garcia with the winning run.

McKnight finished the game with two hits and two RBIs.

The Juniors title game was less dramatic. A day after losing to Redwood City National by a score of 6-5, Half Moon Bay scored early, late and often to win, 17-5.

Ted Fitz doubled and scored on Dominic Sena's single. Fitz hit a two-run single in the second.

After Redwood City scored in the second, Half Moon Bay rallied for seven runs in the third and never looked back.

Tony Carlevaris hit a run-scoring single and Julian Garcia added a run-scoring double.

Half Moon Bay scored seven more runs in the fifth.

Josue Lopez hit a two-run single. Garica, Ben Duarte and Chris True all added run-scoring singles.
