TRAFFIC STOP ENDS IN LIST OF CHARGES

San Mateo County Sheriff's deputies stopped a car driven by 28-year-old José Olmoz of Pescadero shortly after midnight on June 15. It turned out he was driving drunk without a valid license. Deputies found open containers of alcohol and drug paraphernalia in the car and learned that Olmoz had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He also had in invalid registration tab on the car, which is a felony. He was booked into county jail.

EL GRANADA

ID theft

12 p.m., June 14

A woman was told by her bank that someone had made three unauthorized charges totaling $1,600 using her personal information. All the charges came from Southern California.

Vandalism

6:24 a.m., June 15

Someone came to the Coastside substation to report that someone had spray-painted his white vehicle green overnight. The car was parked in an El Granada driveway at the time of the incident.

HALF MOON BAY

Drugs

3:13 p.m., June 23, Miramontes Avenue

Officers responded to an animal complaint and when they went to tell the homeowner about the complaints they discovered marijuana growing in the home. Police are forwarding the case to the district attorney for review.

DUI

12:30 a.m., June 18, Highway 92

Officers arrested a San Leandro woman for DUI after witnessing her cross the centerline. She was taken to First Chance.

12:35 a.m., June 22, Main Street

Police say a 20-year-old Belmont man swerved directly at them. He was stopped and arrested for DUI. He was taken to First Chance.

Graffiti

7:10 a.m., June 18, Poplar Street

Police reported gang graffiti painted on the road to the city's Public Works Department.

Suspicious circumstance

11:19, June 19, Main Street

Police answered a report of a prowler who was seen outside of an apartment with binoculars. The subject was contacted and admitted to trespassing. He said he didn't know why he had binoculars with him. The person who made the complaint did not wish to place a citizen's arrest and asked that the man with binoculars be admonished about trespassing.

Theft

8 p.m., June 18, Miramontes Point Road

Someone reported that a backpack containing a laptop and other items was stolen while left unattended. It was valued at $1,230.

LA HONDA

11:10 p.m., June 21

Deputies arrived after a report of a suicidal man who was threatening to drink antifreeze because he was angry at being denied dental insurance. Deputies determined the man had outstanding warrants for his arrest and he was taken to county jail.

MIRAMAR

Suspicious fires

3:12 p.m., June 17

Half Moon Bay Fire Protection District firefighters put out a small trash fire on Magellan Avenue. While on the scene authorities learned of a similar fire nearby that morning and other suspicious fires in the area in recent days. One witness reported confronting three juveniles about the fires and said the three boys ran when he asked them what they were doing in the area.

UNINCORPORATED SAN MATEO COUNTY

Suspicious incident

9:29 p.m., June 6, Pomponio Beach

California Highway Patrol officers spotted a motorcycle over the cliff. After an extensive search involving the U.S. Coast Guard and Sheriff's deputies, authorities concluded the motorcycle had been dumped.
