END-OF-YEAR PARTY TURNS INTO WASHOUT

At 11:14 p.m., on June 8, San Mateo County Sheriff's deputies responded to a large party on the beach near Mavericks. They reported that as many as 100 teenagers were standing around a bonfire. When deputies ordered the crowd to disperse, one suspect, an 18-year-old El Granada man, cursed at them and urinated in the surf. He was arrested and charged with public intoxication and taken to county jail.

Assault

8:20 p.m., Avenue Balboa

Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a disturbance and found that two people had been arguing over the use of a computer. One of them physically assaulted the other and was issued a citation.

Contributing to delinquency

11:20 p.m., June 12

Deputies stopped to investigate why a car was parked in the parking lot of El Granada Elementary School so late at night. They found that 27-year-old Eddie Lara of Montara, who was on probation, had furnished alcohol to a very intoxicated juvenile girl. Lara was arrested for violating the terms of his probation and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The girl was turned over to her father.

Theft

8 a.m., June 13, Avenue Alhambra

Someone reported that his expensive stereo had been stolen from his unlocked vehicle. The theft cost the victim about $1,500.

HALF MOON BAY

Battery

5:03 a.m., June 11, Myrtle Street

Police responded to a 911 hangup and found a husband and wife who had been involved in a physical altercation. The case is being forwarded on to the district attorney for possible battery charges against both parties.

10:35 a.m., June 12, Main Street

Police responded to a report of battery and discovered a verbal altercation between a business owner and a customer. The business owner didn't wish to prosecute and the customer was gone when police arrived.

Drunk in public

10:34 p.m., June 11, Ocean Boulevard

An officer on patrol ran into two teenage boys - one 18 and the other 17 - who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. It turned out the two had "a large quantity of alcohol," according to police reports. The younger teen was charged with being a minor in possession of alcohol and being drunk in public. The older teen was charged with being a minor in possession.

Restraining order

10:50 a.m., June 16, Sailfish Circle

A woman's ex-boyfriend was accused of violating terms of a restraining order. The case was forwarded to the district attorney.

Suspicious circumstance

June 16, Spruce Street

A caller told police that an unknown person brought a piece of furniture into her home without her permission.

Theft

June 11, Main Street

Someone stole a statue from a Main Street gallery. The artwork - a bronze female figure with wings - was valued at $2,000.

4:50 p.m., June 11, Willow Street

The victim returned to his car to find the door unlocked and an iPod missing.

6:30 a.m., June 15, Poplar Street

A homeowner reported the theft of two bicycles from an unlocked garage. The value of the loss was pegged at $300.

9 p.m., June 15, San Mateo Road

Police responded to a restaurant, where a man was screaming at staff. Apparently he had eaten $53.85 worth of food but was unable to pay the bill. He was arrested on an array of charges.

Unlicensed driver

2:48 p.m., June 15, Highway 92

An officer on patrol noticed a vehicle with four children inside - one without a seat belt. After stopping the driver, the officer found him to be unlicensed and without proof of insurance. He was released on his promise to appear in court.

Vandalism

9:30 a.m., June 16, Myrtle Street

Police took a report of what appeared to be small holes in the window of a residence. The holes appeared to have been made by BB's or pellets.

Warrants

11:28 p.m., June 12, N. Cabrillo Highway

Police rousted two sleeping people in a car on the side of the road and found 37-year-old Jenny Marie Brazil of San Jose to be wanted on numerous felony warrants out of Santa Clara County. She was taken to county jail.

MONTARA

Lost property

9:48 p.m., June 12, Gray Whale Cove

A man came into the Sheriff's substation to report that he was knocked down by a wave and lost his wallet and keys.

Dog bite

3:22 p.m., June 12

A man told deputies that his dog broke free as he was attempting to load the animal into the car. The dog bit a passerby. No charges were filed.

PRINCETON

Drugs

10:01 p..m., June 14

Deputies stopped Walter Landa Vasquez of Princeton after watching him urinate on a chain link fence. They found him to be in possession of a controlled substance and subsequently transported him to county jail.
