DRIVE-BY EGGING IN MIRAMAR

At 10:47 a.m. on May 24, San Mateo County Sheriff's deputies took a report of a curious incident that took place in Miramar the previous evening. A woman claimed to have been startled awake by the sound of something hitting her house. She rushed to her second-story balcony where she found that someone had thrown an egg at her home. She returned to bed. The next day the homeowner had to wash off nearly two dozen eggs from the front of her house.

1:46 a.m., May 24

After pulling a vehicle over for running a red light, deputies found the driver to be drunk. He was arrested and taken to the county jail.

HALF MOON BAY

DUI

11:58 p.m., May 23, Highway 1

Officers pulled over a car for a malfunctioning taillight and found its 17-year-old driver to be drunk. He failed sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI and not having a license.

Fire

2:22 p.m., May 23, Stone Pine Road

Officers were called after a small fire started in a peat moss soil mix.

Fraud

2:48 p.m., May 13, Amesport Landing

A resident reported that suspects made several purchases at a New York store using forged credit card information.

2:30 p.m., May 23, Muirfield Road

A man received a letter saying he had won $120,000. The package included two fraudulent checks. The man did not cash the checks but reported the incident to police.

Harassment

12:53 a.m., May 24, Myrtle Street

A woman left harassing phone messages on a resident's answering machine.

Litter

10 a.m., May 22, Grandview Boulevard

An officer was called after a person found several used condoms in a gutter. The caller wanted the incident documented.

Panhandling

2:19 p.m., May 24, Highway 1

A panhandler caused a disturbance after a man refused to give him money. The panhandler was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested and taken to the county jail.

Theft

9 a.m., May 19, Half Moon Bay High School

A woman called police reporting that her diamond ring had been stolen. In fact, the ring was actually lost while the woman was shopping. It was later located.

7:33 p.m., May 23, Kelly Avenue

A $600 bike was stolen from the Cunha Intermediate School skate park.

Trespassing

10:38 a.m., May 23, Main Street

A man and woman were found sleeping in another person's house. The two left the scene before police arrived.

12:14 a.m., May 24, Myrtle Street

Police searched for a trespasser but found that the person had been given permission to be on the lot.

Unlicensed driver

2:15 p.m., May 22, Kelly Avenue

After a car ran a red light, officers discovered that the driver was unlicensed. He was cited and released.

Vandalism

6:20 a.m., May 20, Silver Avenue

During the night, vandals slashed two tires on a vehicle.

3 a.m., May 24, St. Andrews Road

Unknown suspects removed a man's backyard lighting and damaged the front window of his home.

7:43 p.m., May 23, St. John Avenue

Police were called about possible vandalism to a lock on a gate. Officers found no apparent vandalism.

MONTARA

Theft

3:42 a.m., May 24

Two suspects entered a vehicle and stole an MP3 player, a charger, headphones and a radio receiver. The two were frightened off when they heard the victim approaching and dropped the stolen items in the street.
