Owner calls off dog attack

At 3 p.m. on May 8, Half Moon Bay Police officers arrived at Lewis Foster Drive after hearing of a dog attack. A juvenile boy said that a white pit bull attempted to bite him while he was walking home from school. The boy saw the dog run toward him then leap forward as if it were about to maul him. At that point, a person on a bike called off the dog. Police were unable to locate the dog or its owner.

Battery

9:30 p.m., May 8, San Mateo Road

A woman called police stating that her stepfather was pulling her mother's hair. When police arrived, they found that the caller's brother had punched the stepfather in the face. The victim asked for charges to be filed against the young man who was cited and released.

10:57 p.m., May 8, Ronald Court

A juvenile, possibly under the influence of drugs or alcohol, hit his mother and slapped his sister. He was arrested on charges of assault and battery.

Burglary

7 a.m., May 11, Main Street

Suspects broke into a restaurant and attempted to pry a padlock from a freezer. No food was taken.

May 13, Spinnaker Lane

Officers responded to a report of a residential burglary. Unknown suspects entered a house and took jewelry, cash and a San Francisco Giant's jersey.

Collision

10:50 a.m., May 11, San Mateo Road

Officers were called after a person reported seeing a pickup truck back into two parked vehicles and leave the area.

Domestic abuse

11:13 p.m., May 11, San Mateo Road

Police arrived at a home after reports of a disturbance. A man had struck his wife twice on the face. He was arrested and taken to the county jail.

DUI

2:04 p.m., May 12, Miramontes Point Road

Police pulled over a car for speeding and found its driver to be drunk. He was arrested and transported to First Chance.

3:10 p.m., May 13, Highway 1

Officers were flagged down by a woman reporting a hit-and-run accident. Police later located the suspect who was drunk. He also had a suspended license and no proof of insurance. He was arrested and taken to First Chance.

Drugs

9:40 a.m., May 14, Pilarcitos Avenue

Police found a woman at a party under the influence of methamphetamines. She was arrested and taken to the county jail.

Fraud

11:11 a.m., May 13, Kehoe Avenue

Officers took an identity theft report. A woman said she received phone calls on her cell phone telling her that several loans had been approved. The callers knew much of the victim's personal information.

Vandalism

7:20 p.m., May 11, Amesport Landing

Unknown suspects broke the driver's side window of a vehicle during the night.

10 p.m., May 13, Oak Avenue

Unknown suspects slashed the tires of a vehicle.

2:50 p.m., May 12, Miramontes Avenue

Officers took a report of three juveniles who reportedly broke a window on a bathroom door at Hatch Elementary School.

4 p.m., May 9, Ronald Court

Unknown suspects used keys to scratch a vehicle.

2:15 p.m., May 13, Mizzen Lane

A car window was damaged.

Warrant

2 p.m., May 9, San Mateo Road

Officers tracked down two juveniles on probation who were in the company of known gang members. One of the juveniles was arrested after police learned he had an outstanding warrant.

MONTARA

Theft

12:52 a.m., May 6, Park Street

After attending a party, a woman returned to her vehicle and discovered the left rear passenger's door window had been smashed. A purse was also missing.

PRINCETON

Fighting

10:58 p.m., May 6

One man struck another in the cheek with a broken beer bottle during a bar fight. The victim suffered a laceration and was taken to Seton Coastside Medical Center. The attacker was placed under arrest and taken to the county jail.
