Chalk up another bust of a vandalism gang in Half Moon Bay

At 4:57 p.m. on Sunday, Half Moon Bay Police officers arrived at the scene of a vandalism in progress on Oak Street. A group of children was writing messages in chalk on the cement floor of a park bathroom. The chalk washed off easily and the children's parents were notified.

HALF MOON BAY

Drugs

9:15 a.m., April 13, Half Moon Bay High School

Two students were found with marijuana. After police arrived, the juveniles were released to their parents.

DUI

12:40 p.m., April 13, Highway 1

After pulling over a car for swerving, an officer discovered that the driver was intoxicated. The driver failed sobriety tests, was arrested and then transported to First Chance.

5 p.m., April 13, Highway 92

After police responded to a non-injury collision, one driver was found to be under the influence of prescription medications. The driver was taken to First Chance and a report will be forwarded to the district attorney's office.

6 p.m., April 14, Oak Street

Officers found a driver to be intoxicated after he had reportedly been swerving in and out of lanes. He failed sobriety tests and was arrested and transported to the county jail.

Fighting

12:35 a.m., April 13, Highway 92

Police were called on reports of a fight involving about 20 people. The case is being investigated by the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.

9 a.m., April 10, Correas Street

An iPod was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

April 11, Highway 1

An unknown suspect removed a brass boat prop that was in front of a local restaurant. The item was valued at $2,000.

Trespassing

11:30 a.m., April 10, Half Moon Bay High School

Police were called when a man was found at the high school talking to students. He was told not to return.

Vandalism

April 15, Main Street

A window was broken at a Half Moon Bay office. Nothing appeared to be missing inside.

3 p.m., April 15, Miramontes Avenue

Unknown suspects broke two windows at Hatch Elementary School.

7:30 p.m., Stone Pine Road

Unknown suspects threw rocks at three locations on Stone Pine Road.

Warrant

3:22 p.m., April 11, San Mateo Road

Police arrested a man with an outstanding warrant. He was taken to the county jail.

10:15 p.m., April 12, Poplar Beach

After locating a man with an outstanding warrant, police arrested him and took him to the county jail.

12:22 a.m., April 15, Main Street

An officer saw a man known to have an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. The man was arrested and taken to the county jail.
