The landmark establishment at the south end of Half Moon Bay, known for its community involvement and eclectic pub atmosphere, received Half Moon Bay Planning Commission approval for a significant expansion several months ago.
Plans were approved for a significant westward expansion, according to city Associate Planner Sage Schaan. Those plans involve the addition of 36 new rooms at the inn and the demolition of two existing structures - a single family home and a small gathering hall.

"What I'm actually trying to do is raise money," said Cameron Palmer, the restaurant's owner. "It's a marketing tool."
From the beginning, Palmer said he knew the project would require outside money. Now that he has approval in hand for an expansion - he is seeking investors, or possibly a business partner. But he says he is by no means looking to sell out.
"I'm not sure how it will end up, but I'll be flipping burgers and scooping ice cream for years to come," he said.
The expansion will include conference facilities and an exercise room, Palmer said, and be "kind of on the upscale." He is seeking investment in the range of $5 to $6 million to keep one of the Coastside's most visible businesses moving forward.
"I live right next door to the property, it's Cameron's Restaurant and it's my baby," Palmer said. "I want to keep it going."
