Man wants justice after being hit by bike

An indignant citizen entered the Half Moon Bay Police Department at 4:39 p.m. Sunday to report that a bicyclist had struck him earlier that day. In addition to being angry, the citizen also appeared drunk. At first, the man said he wanted no action taken. However, on second thought, he wished to perform a citizen's arrest. Police advised the man that they would attempt to locate the discourteous bicyclist and counsel him to refrain from hitting anyone else.

HALF MOON BAY

Battery

7:30 p.m., Dec. 3, Grand Boulevard

Officers responded to a battery report. One woman claimed that she had been grabbed by her arms and swung around. However, the woman was not injured and did not press charges.

Burglary

Nov. 29, Smith Field

Unknown suspects stole several items and vandalized a billboard at the dog park near Smith Field.

9:30 a.m., Dec. 2, Railroad Avenue

During the night, suspects entered a residence and rifled through a storage container. Nothing appeared to be missing the next day.

Collision

3:20 p.m., Nov. 30, Main Street

An accident occurred involving a driver and a pedestrian. Though the pedestrian appeared to be uninjured and left the scene, the driver asked police to document the collision. There was no damage to the driver's vehicle.

Domestic despute

1:43 p.m., Dec. 1, Highway 1

An officer took a report of a domestic issue between a female and her ex-boyfriend who continues to contact her. The woman was advised to file for a restraining order.

Drugs

11:02 a.m., Dec. 1, Highway 1

Officers caught two men in a drug transaction. They arrested one man on charges of possession of marijuana for sale, possession of marijuana over 28.5 grams and selling marijuana. He was transported to the county jail.

DUI

4:02 p.m., Dec. 2, Kelly Avenue

After stopping to assist two drivers in a collision, a patrol officer discovered that one driver was intoxicated. After the driver failed a sobriety test, he was arrested for driving under the influence and transported to First Chance.

6:46 p.m., Dec. 2, Highway 92

A couple was involved in what appeared to be an animated domestic dispute inside a vehicle. Though the fighting was only verbal, one individual was arrested for DUI.

Fighting

2:50 a.m., Nov. 30, Miramontes Point Road

When staff couldn't find a hotel guest's jacket, he became irate. Officers were called and hotel security escorted the guest back to his room.

Harassment

8:08 p.m., Nov. 30, Main Street

An officer was dispatched to a report of a harassing telephone message left at a business in Half Moon Bay. The call appeared to be a prank.

11:09 a.m., Dec. 4, police department

Officers met with a woman who claimed that her ex-boyfriend was stalking her, although he had not made contact. Police documented the case although no crime had been committed.

Probation violation

11:53 a.m., Nov. 29, Jenna Lane

Officers arrested a suspect wanted for a probation violation and transported him to the county jail.

Unlicensed driver

10:38 p.m., Dec. 3, Poplar Street

During a traffic stop, an officer found that the driver was unlicensed and without proof of insurance. The driver was cited and released on promise to appear in court.

MIRAMAR

DUI

6:43 p.m., Dec. 1, Medio Avenue

A man was stopped after crossing into the path of an oncoming patrol vehicle that was driving on Highway 1. The suspect was arrested for a DUI.

MONTARA

DUI

6:28 p.m., Dec. 2, Highway 1

A vehicle crossing onto Highway 1 from 2nd Street nearly collided with another vehicle. The driver was stopped, failed sobriety tests and was taken into custody.

PRINCETON

DUI

11:00 p.m., Dec. 1, Capistrano Road

When a woman was stopped for vehicle code violations, a deputy noticed she was intoxicated. She failed sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI.
