On Sunday, Nov. 5, at approximately 3 p.m., San Mateo County Sheriff's deputies responded to the Half Moon Bay Nursery, located at 11691 San Mateo Road following a hit-and-run complaint. On arrival, they made contact with the two victims, who told them they had been involved in a traffic accident with another vehicle and then had been assaulted by the driver. One victim stated he was punched in the face during the altercation. Several witnesses indicated the individual was driving a beige, older-model Mercedes. The suspect vehicle was later located and the driver detained at the intersection of Ralston Avenue and Christian Drive in Belmont. After further investigation, the driver of the suspect vehicle, Steven Thomas Plummer, was placed under arrest for hit-and-run and driving while under the influence of alcohol.
EL GRANADA

10:35 a.m., Nov. 4
A caller located a six inch knife lodged into the doorjamb of the boy's bathroom at El Granada Elementary School in El Granada. The reporting party turned the knife in to San Mateo County Sheriff's deputies. In an unrelated incident, the door to the school's multi-purpose room was found slightly ajar. However, nothing was missing.
HALF MOON BAY
Civil dispute
10 a.m., Nov. 6, Pilarcitos Avenue
Half Moon Bay Police officers stood by while a dispute between a property manager and a tenant was resolved. Repairmen attempted to enter the rental property to make necessary repairs but found the locks had been changed. Police documented the incident.
Drugs
11:51 a.m., Nov. 6, Main Street
Officers dispatched to a medical call found the subject to be in possession of a syringe loaded with suspected cocaine and heroin. Additionally, the subject was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. He was arrested on possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia, and for being under the influence of a controlled substance, and transported to the county jail.
Fighting
9:45 a.m., Nov. 9, Lewis Foster Drive
Officers were told by Half Moon Bay High School staff members of a disagreement between three students, leading to two of the students fighting at school.The students were interviewed, the parents notified, and the students released to school staff. Two students were suspended, and the report will be reviewed by the district attorney.
Hit and run
1:45 p.m., Nov. 11, Main Street
A report was taken in regard to a non-injury, hit-and-run collision. The victim parked in the area to go shopping. She said when she returned to her parked car, she found that it was damaged. The other driver did not leave contact information as required by law.
Missing person
4:30 p.m., Nov. 8, Avignon Place
Police took a report of a missing adult who was later located. The man had simply gone out of town.
Public intoxication
2:36 a.m., Nov. 8, Kelly Avenue
An officer on patrol observed two subjects who ran, after police spied them. The two were contacted and were found to be intoxicated. They were arrested for public intoxication and transported to the county jail.
3:15 p.m., Nov. 9, Main Street
While on routine patrol, officers contacted a pedestrian walking on the side of the road. The subject appeared to be intoxicated and was transported to First Chance.
Suspicious circumstances
2 p.m., Nov. 10, Johnston Street
Officers were dispatched to the home of a man who reported finding blue sponge material in his yard with his dogs. The caller wanted the incident documented.
Theft
7 p.m., Church Street, Nov. 7
A citizen reported the theft of a backpack left unattended at Cunha Intermediate School. The victim estimated the loss at approximately $70.
2:08 p.m., Nov. 8
A Rite Aid employee told police that a man attempted to steal a bottle of tequila from the store. Staff watched as the man picked up the bottle of tequila. Then employees found the security cap to the bottle had been left in another aisle. The man was contacted outside of the store, but was not in possession of the alcohol. He was advised not to return to the store.
Trespassing
1:25 a.m., Nov. 11, Spindrift Way
Officers responded to a report of an unwanted guest, who was possibly intoxicated, attempting to gain entrance through the closed front door of the residence. Upon arrival the officers learned that the man had reportedly struck one of the residents. The resident signed a citizen's arrest form. The suspect was arrested and taken to San Mateo County jail.
Underage drinking
10 a.m., Nov. 8, Lewis Foster Drive
Police were contacted at the high school regarding two students whom administrators thought had possibly been drinking alcohol. Staff observed two students acting suspiciously and discovered an empty bottle of alcohol in one of their backpacks. One student apparently had been drinking, while the other had not. Both students were suspended for being in possession of alcohol at school. The case will be forwarded to the district attorney for review.
Weapons
9:58 p.m., Nov. 7, S. Cabrillo Highway
Police were called about a man with a knife, who had reportedly waved the weapon in a Half Moon Bay restaurant. The victim placed the suspect under citizen's arrest. Police transported the man to the county jail on charges of exhibiting a deadly weapon and making terrorizing threats.
LA HONDA

8:45 p.m., Nov. 6
Two juvenile inmates walked away from custody at the Camp Glenwood Juvenile Facility. One juvenile inmate was in custody and serving his sentence on the charge of stealing a car, while the other was in custody and serving his sentence on the charge of possession of stolen merchandise. They were last seen wearing Camp Glenwood-issued clothing and were walking eastbound on the 8700 block of La Honda Road. A witness saw the two subjects and then contacted the staff at Camp Glenwood, which in turn contacted the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.
MONTARA
Theft
12:05 p.m., Nov. 4
A woman told deputies that she had lost her ATM card in late October. She notified her bank and requested a new card. The new card never made it to the reporting party. Apparently someone stole the victim's ATM card and charged approximately $600 worth of merchandise at various stores within San Mateo County.
1:12 p.m., Nov. 4
Someone forced entry into a woman's vehicle. The unknown suspect stole a purse, valued at $200, along with four credit cards, a check for $500 and a cell phone, valued at $250. Also stolen from the victim was her driver's license and 200 blank checks. Deputies didn't immediately see any suspects in the area.
MOSS BEACH
Drugs
8:46 p.m., Nov. 4
Deputies contacted a driver and passenger for a vehicle violation at the Pillar Ridge Mobile Home Community. A consensual search of the driver and passenger revealed controlled substances and paraphernalia. The two men were arrested and transported and booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility. The controlled substances and paraphernalia were logged into sheriff's office evidence after being field tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine.

Weapons and drugs
12:26 a.m., Highway 1
Deputies conducted a welfare check on the occupants of a Nissan pickup truck parked along the shoulder of Highway 1 at Highway 84. While the deputies contacted the Nissan's occupants, they noticed the strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the passenger compartment. During a search, a small amount of marijuana and two loaded pistols were located. The woman in the truck admitted the loaded pistols and marijuana belonged to her, and she was arrested for possession of loaded firearms and possession of marijuana.
UNINCORPORATED SAN MATEO COUNTY

3:47 p.m., Nov. 6, Higgins Purisima Road
Deputies were told a mailbox had been stolen. The victim stated that sometime in the last two days someone had taken the mailbox. The victim indicated he is fairly certain that there was no mail in the mailbox when it was taken. The victim estimates the value of the mailbox at approximately $80.
