Two stranded kayakers were rescued in the waters off Pescadero Point Thursday, the U.S. Coast Guard said. The two men capsized about a mile offshore and were swept away from their kayak.

One of the men had a hand-held radio and reached Coast Guard personnel in San Francisco at just after 8 a.m. Thursday. A helicopter was quickly dispatched from the San Francisco air station. Pillar Point Harbor Patrol was also contacted and sent a boat to assist.

As the first man was being pulled to safety by the helicopter, the harbor patrol recovered the second man. Both men were released to awaiting emergency medical personnel when they arrived at the harbor. The names of the kayakers were not released.
