Jason Martinez, 34, of Sunnyvale, was contacted by Sheriff's Office deputies on Pigeon Point Road at 2:35 p.m. Oct. 1. Martinez was found to be on state parole. A parole search was conducted and deputies found suspected methamphetamine, a glass pipe and several hypodermic needles. Martinez was arrested, transported and booked into the Maguire Main Jail in Redwood City.
EL GRANADA

Jeffrey Sladek, 29, of Half Moon Bay, was contacted by Sheriff's Office deputies in front of the El Granada Post Office. Sladek had two female juveniles in his vehicle. After contacting the female juveniles, deputies determined both were intoxicated and Sladek had provided the juveniles with alcohol. Sladek was arrested, transported and booked into the Maguire Main Jail in Redwood City for felony parole violation and contributing to the delinquency of a minor as well as selling alcohol to a minor. The time and date of the incident were unavailable at press time.
HALF MOON BAY
Battery
1 p.m., Oct. 2, Church Street
A police officer took a report of a battery that occurred at Cunha Intermediate School when one boy reportedly spit on a female victim, and another student took the victim's watch and threw it in the trash can. The victim's family wanted compensation for the watch and the boy to be reprimanded for spitting on the victim.
Dangerous animal
7:30 p.m., Oct. 3, Ruisseau Francais Avenue
Police received a call about a loose dog at a park with a dangerous animal tag. When the officer arrived he found the dog appeared very old and friendly. An investigation showed the dog had been registered as a dangerous animal in 1997. The dog was returned to its owner.
Dangerous driving
1:16 p.m., Oct. 3, Highway 1
A police officer pulled a car over after noticing it was weaving within its lane and crossing onto the shoulder of the highway. The officer found weeds and bushes on the front of the car and issued the 91-year-old driver a DMV reexamination notice.
Driving without a license
6:46 a.m., Oct. 3, Highway 1
When a police officer arrived at the scene of a traffic accident he found one of the drivers to be unlicensed and without proof of insurance. He was cited and released on his promise to appear in court.
Driving with suspended license
9:45 a.m. Oct. 8, Main Street
An officer stopped a driver for a seat belt infraction and found the driver was driving on a suspended license. The 17-year-old was released on his promise to appear in court.
Drunken driving
1:51 a.m., Oct. 7, Highway 1
An officer on patrol saw a car traveling above the speed limit. During the traffic stop it became apparent the driver had been drinking. He subsequently failed sobriety tests and was arrested and taken to First Chance.
Fighting
1:40 p.m., San Mateo Road
An officer was dispatched to the high school regarding a fight between two male students that occurred in the Albertsons shopping center the previous day. The case will be forwarded to the district attorney for review.
Graffiti
10:50 a.m., Oct. 6, Pilarcitos Creek Bridge
An officer on patrol observed gang-related graffiti on the pedestrian bridge near the Strawflower Village. The city's Public Works Department was notified to clean the writing from the bridge.
10:30 p.m., Oct. 7, Granelli Avenue
An officer was dispatched to a report of gang-related graffiti on a fence along a city alleyway. Public Works was notified.
Harrassing phone calls
4 p.m., Oct. 6, Alsace Lorraine
Police took a report of annoying phone calls from a resident who said he was bothered by a person claiming to be with a nonprofit organization. The homeowner spoke with the caller a couple times but the calls continued without the caller ever speaking. Police advised the homeowner how to get a "phone trap" from the phone company to find out where the calls originated from.
Stolen car
9:45 p.m., Kelly Avenue, Oct. 6
Someone called to say his car was stolen, but police found it nearby and there was no evidence of forced entry or damage to the vehicle.
Vandalism
Oct. 8, Kelly Avenue
A homeowner reported someone had thrown mud at her shed, leaving small dings in the building.
6:55 a.m., Oct. 9, Lewis Foster Drive
An officer responded to the high school on the report of a burglary. Unknown suspects broke an exterior window to gain access to an office. Damage was found to a file cabinet but nothing appeared to be taken.
LA HONDA
Theft
7:23 p.m., Oct. 3
An unknown suspect took a guitar from the victim's residence on Ventura Avenue in La Honda. The victim believes the guitar was taken by a former roommate that recently moved out. Sheriff's Office detectives are following up all leads on the potential felony.
MOSS BEACH
Assault with deadly weapon
3:59 p.m., Oct. 4
Sergio Palacios, 19, of Moss Beach and an unnamed minor were arrested for the above charges. Deputies responded to a report of several men fighting with bats at the Pillar Ridge Mobile Home Community. During a search of the individuals, deputies found a baseball bat and a concealed knife. Deputies arrested Palacios and the unnamed minor. Palacios was transported and booked into the county jail on a variety of charges, including assault with a deadly weapon and participation in a criminal street gang and the minor was transported and booked into Hillcrest Juvenile Hall.
Vandalism
2:05 p.m., Sept. 20
Someone broke the window of a residence. It was unclear if anything was stolen.
PRINCETON
Driving with suspended license
2:27 p.m., Sept. 30
Deputies stopped a man for running a stop sign and determined he was driving on a suspended license. The 20-year-old from Moss Beach was taken to the county jail.
UNINCORPORATED SAN MATEO COUNTY
Public intoxication
3:15 p.m., Oct. 1
A 44-year-old Granite Bay man was found parked in a no-parking zone near Devil's Slide. Deputies soon learned he was too drunk to care for himself. He was transported to the county jail, charged, and released when he sobered up.
