SLEEPWALKING ACROSS TOWN

On the evening of Sept. 20 a couple on Half Moon Bay's Garcia Avenue were surprised when a 20-year-old man climbed through a window in an attempt to visit their 19-year-old daughter. Instead, he switched on the light to the room where her startled parents were sleeping. They demanded to know what he was doing in their house. The man fled, leaving his car parked in the middle of the street. The car was towed and police contacted the man, who claimed to have been sleepwalking. The homeowners declined to seek prosecution.

EL GRANADA

Drunk in public

9:45 p.m., Sept. 20, Sonora Avenue

A man was arrested after deputies on patrol in El Granada stopped at a loud house party. One of the men decided to run from the deputies, and he was caught after a short chase. He was determined to be too drunk to care for himself and he was taken to San Mateo County jail.

HALF MOON BAY

Disturbance

11:04 a.m., Sept. 22, Highway 1

Police arrived at a Half Moon Bay hotel after a disturbance was reported there. The guests left the hotel without further incident.

Driving without a license

5 a.m., Sept. 21, 2nd Street

After performing a traffic stop a police officer found the driver to be driving with a suspended license. The man was cited and released on his promise to appear.

12:51 a.m., Sept. 24, Redondo Beach Road

A driver was cited by police for speeding and was found to be driving with a suspended license.

DUI

Sept. 24, Highway 1

Police responded to a call of an erratic driver. The car was stopped and the driver failed sobriety tests and was arrested.

Harassment

10:27 a.m., Sept. 22, Filbert Street

A resident told police she was receiving harassing phone calls from a woman she knew. The suspect was contacted by police and warned of the consequences of her behavior. The victim declined to seek prosecution but wanted the incident documented.

Suspicious circumstance

12:43 p.m., Sept. 24, Alameda Avenue

A police officer responded to a call that someone was cutting weeds in a vacant lot, possibly without the permission of the property owner. Police questioned the suspect, who told them he had been asked to do it by the owner of the property.

Vandalism

4:45 p.m., Sept. 22, Kelly Avenue

Police responded to a report of vandalism to a car. The car had been scratched sometime over night.

2:47 a.m., Sept. 25, Main Street

An officer on patrol observed three planter pots that had been turned over in an alley in the 400 block of Main Street. The plants in the pots appeared to have been destroyed by the weight of the pots.

Warrant arrest

12:59 p.m., Sept. 22, Highway 1

A police officer saw someone he knew was wanted by police. The man was arrested and taken to San Mateo County jail.

MONTARA

Burglary

7 p.m., Sept. 18

An unknown suspect broke the driver's side window on the victim's car and took a purse that was left on the seat in plain view.

Identity theft

1:50 p.m., Sept. 16

Sometime between Sept. 15 and Sept. 20 an unknown person gained access to the victim's checking account and made five unauthorized transactions totaling $650.

MOSS BEACH

Drugs

3:23 p.m., Sept. 16, Gray Whale Cove Beach

Scott Coleman, 40, of San Lorenzo, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and marijuana. Deputies found Coleman in the parking lot at Gray Whale Cove Beach and found he was on probation. They discovered the drugs during a probation search. He was arrested and taken to San Mateo County jail.

DUI

3 a.m., Sept. 16, Highway 1

Jard Davis, 25, of San Francisco, was arrested for driving under the influence and the possession of a deadly weapon after deputies stopped him coming over Devil's Slide. Davis failed several field sobriety tests, and afterward deputies found an illegal knife under the seat of the car. He was taken to San Mateo County jail.

12:16 a.m., Sept 20

After stopping a car for a traffic violation, deputies found the driver appeared drunk and conducted sobriety tests. After failing the tests the man was arrested and taken to San Mateo County jail.

Theft

4 p.m., Sept. 15, Bernal Avenue

Sometime over the course of the night, an unknown suspect entered the victim's unlocked car and took her iPod.

4:20 p.m., Sept. 18

Sometime during the night an unknown suspect entered the victim's unlocked car and took a briefcase.

PRINCETON

Drunk in public

1:50 a.m., Sept. 16, Pillar Point Harbor

A woman was arrested after deputies found her in the harbor intoxicated and unable to care for herself. She was taken to San Mateo County jail.

1:51 a.m., Sept. 16, Pillar Point Harbor

A man was arrested after deputies determined he was too drunk to care for himself. He was taken to San Mateo County jail.

UNINCORPORATED SAN MATEO COUNTY

Domestic violence

11:58 p.m., Sept. 16, Skyline Boulevard

Nicholas George, 25, and Ross Houge, 21, both of Los Angeles, were arrested for felony domestic violence and booked into San Mateo County jail. The domestic partners got into a physical altercation on Highway 92 between Half Moon Bay and Highway 35, and both had scratches and bruises from that.

Drugs

3:24 p.m. Sept. 20, Highway 1

Misti Rountree, 25, of San Francisco, was arrested and booked into San Mateo County jail after deputies stopped her car and conducted field sobriety tests. During a search the deputies found LSD in the car and she was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.

Identity theft

4:20 p.m., Sept. 18

On Aug. 30 an unknown person gained access to the victim's checking account information and made an unauthorized transaction for $384.

Warrant arrest

12:10 a.m., Sept. 15, Highway 92

Shawn Decosta, 39, of Half Moon Bay was arrested for an outstanding felony warrant for burglary. He was booked into San Mateo County jail without incident.
