Police referee wrestling match after vandalism in Princeton

San Mateo County sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a report of vandalism on Yale Avenue in Princeton, at about 1:15 a.m., June 27. According to the sheriff's report, two juveniles were "wrestling" on the ground in the driveway of the residence. The wrestling match began when one juvenile smashed the rear window of the victim's vehicle with a wood pallet. The offending juvenile was placed under arrest and booked into juvenile hall.

Half Moon Bay

BATTERY

10:55 p.m., June 29, Alsace Lorraine

A Half Moon Bay police officer responded to a report of battery when a caller said he and his teenage daughter's male friend engaged in a physical altercation. The suspect also reportedly threw a rock at the victim's parked vehicle. The victim did not wish to seek prosecution but wanted the incident documented.

DOMESTIC DISPUTE

5 a.m., June 26, First Avenue

A woman called police to say an estranged boyfriend violated a restraining order. She told police an argument ensued and the man pushed her against the wall. The woman left the house to call police. The man was gone when police arrived. The case will be forwarded to the district attorney for prosecution.

12:56 a.m., June 28, Highway 1

An officer on patrol observed a vehicle traveling above the speed limit. He performed a traffic stop and found the driver appeared to be intoxicated. The man subsequently failed field sobriety tests. He was arrested and transported to First Chance.

GRAFFITI

3:12 p.m., June 28, North Cabrillo Highway

An officer discovered gang-related graffiti while making his normal rounds behind Strawflower Village.

HARASSMENT

Noon, June 26, Grand Boulevard

A resident called police to report receiving annoying hang-up telephone calls from an unknown caller for approximately three years. The caller was referred to the phone company for further assistance.

MISSING PERSON

4:30 p.m., June 24, Kelly Avenue

Someone reported her 19-year-old son missing. The teen called his mother the next morning.

PUBLIC ASSIST

4:30 p.m., June 29, Mizzen Lane

Someone called police to say he had four firearms he wished to turn over for destruction.

THEFT

6:30 p.m., June 29, Correas Street

A juvenile reported his bicycle was taken from in front of the Half Moon Bay Library.

July 1, Alsace Lorraine

An officer was dispatched to a report of a shotgun that has been missing from the caller's residence since approximately six months ago.

VANDALISM

June 26, 6 a.m., Lewis Foster Drive

Someone at Half Moon Bay High School reported vandalism after someone broke two windows with an unknown object. The vandal or vandals apparently did not enter the building.

THEFT

6:09 a.m., June 28, La Honda Road

Unknown suspects stole a vehicle right out of the driveway of the victim's residence. The victim remembers parking his vehicle in the driveway the previous evening and when he returned the following morning it was gone.

DOMESTIC DISPUTE

3:20 p.m., June 23, 11th Street

Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a report of a restraining order violation. The suspect was last seen walking west on 11th Street. They contacted the suspect and found that he had an outstanding warrant. He was arrested and booked into the county jail.

THEFT

June 23

Someone stole the front license plate off a truck. The victim was unsure if the plate had been taken off the truck while it was parked at the residence or one of the many places the victim had been shopping.

Princeton

DRUNK IN PUBLIC

11:45 p.m., June 28, Johnson Pier

Deputies responded to a call of a drunk and disorderly person at the pier. Once on scene, the encountered a 64-year-old man who was being loud and belligerent and staggering around the area. The man had an outstanding warrant. He was arrested and transported to the county jail.

DUI

11:40 p.m., June 23, Airport Street

Deputies made a traffic stop on a vehicle and found the driver, a 58-year-old from Moss Beach, to be driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. The man admitted to drinking beer and whiskey at a local bar. He was arrested and transported to the county jail.

Pescadero

DUI

2:34 a.m., Highway 1 at Stage Road

While on routine patrol, deputies came across a vehicle pulled to the shoulder of the road with the lights out. Deputies pulled behind the vehicle and attempted to alert the driver, a 20-year-old man from Pescadero. He was sound asleep with the engine running and the vehicle in drive. After several attempts, deputies woke the man and smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage. The man was arrested and transported to the county jail.
