Coastside Bids Farewell to Glenn Ashcraft Half Moon Bay Review / June 9, 2000

Published/Last Modified on Thursday, Jun 08, 2000 - 10:00:00 pm PDT

Over 200 people, including State Senator Jackie Speier, Half Moon Bay Police Chief Dennis Wick and Half Moon Bay City Council member Naomi Patridge, paid their respects last Friday at the funeral of longtime Half Moon Bay resident Glenn F. Ashcraft.

About 30 cars and a Half Moon Bay Fire District engine, driven by Roger Pimentel and Tony Moorhouse, participated in the procession from Miller Dutra Funeral Home on Kelly Avenue to services at Skylawn Memorial Park, passing Cunha Country Store where Ashcraft worked alongside his wife Bev Cunha Ashcraft.

A representative of the San Mateo branch of the Masonic Lodge, where Ashcraft was a member, conducted the memorial. The United States Air Force commemorated Ashcraft's military service with the traditional flag-folding ceremony and the playing of taps.

The Ashcraft family wishes to thank the community, local law enforcement, the Masonic Lodge and the Air Force for the comfort, support and assistance they have provided, said Glenn and Beverly Ashcraft's son Mark.Back to Top
